On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Indian Pacers by one point. In this nail-biting finish, the Lakers were aggressive with the ball – leaving no room for error. Their way to victory was led by Anthony Davis‘ 31-point and 14-rebound game. Coming off an injury, Davis’ performance felt like a breath of fresh air to a lot of fans and the organization. While some chattered about his performance, the talk of the town revolved around LeBron James and his 28-point performance.

In the game against the Pacers, LeBron bagged 26 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds. With this performance, the four-time NBA Champion is only 63 points away from breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record. The anticipation around this feat grew as the post-game conference was filled with questions about the record. LeBron responded to each question with an aura of calmness. Meanwhile, miles away in Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo was closing in on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as well, following in the King’s footsteps.

The first was a career-high 55 against the Washington Wizards. The second one(50) came against the New Orleans Pelicans and Thursday night marked the sixth 50-point game. As reported by ESPN, Giannis joined Abdul-Jabbar “as the only players in Bucks history to have at least three 50-point games in a season.”

With this, the 2021 NBA Champion has a total of 6 50-point games and is marching towards surpassing the franchise’s record of 10 50-points games held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. For Giannis, to have his name in the same sentence as Abdul-Jabbar is nothing but a great compliment. He said, “Man, I never thought I was going to score 50 in the NBA when I got drafted. It’s an insane, crazy journey.”

The Greek Freak’s plans of celebration

The Milwaukee ace revealed to the media that he visited a Chick-fil-A drive-through the last time he bagged 50 points. But after the performance against the Clippers, he had other plans. He revealed that he planned to visit Culver’s and buy 50 cheeseburgers. The goal is to eat as many as he can while feeding the rest to his son or his dogs.
