The Kevin Durant trade saga finally came to a close. After months of tension, the Brooklyn Nets confirmed their ace is going nowhere this off-season. A slew of teams attempted to acquire the human sniper, but no offer was compelling enough to persuade the Nets to part ways with their star. Stephen Curry recently had his say on the KD saga, indicating that he would have welcomed a reunion with his former teammate.

Interestingly, KD’s former team, the Golden State Warriors, were also mentioned as prospective bidders. However, the reigning champs chose not to blow up their roster to acquire the two-time NBA champion.

Curry told Rolling Stone that he would have been fine with the Warriors blowing up the roster to acquire Durant. “Hell Yeah” is how the Golden State Warriors star described his reaction would have been if someone told him Durant was coming back.

“If you said, ‘Oh, KD’s coming back, and we’re gonna play with him,’ I had so much fun playing with him those three years, I’d be like, ‘Hell, yeah!’” the four-time champion said.

“If anybody’s saying that you wouldn’t entertain that conversation…no disrespect to anybody on our team — but you don’t know how things work,” he added.

The $160 million net worth star also went on to remark that he is completely confident in his team’s ability to win the NBA title again, as constructed.

Stephen Curry stated that he would never be hesitant to reunite with Durant. He cited the idea of playing with him and who he is as a person as the reasons he would have welcomed a reunion. And fair to assume, that blockbuster reunion would have spelled terror for the entire league.

Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant joined forces in 2016 after the latter stunned the NBA universe by bringing his talents to the Dub Nation. The move landed KD the tag of “villain” and fetched him a torrent of criticism that is still felt over six years later.

Regardless, that didn’t stop KD and the Warriors from dominating the league. They won back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018, with KD being named Finals MVP on both occasions.

Curry and Durant spearheaded the franchise to glory. The former’s catapult-like shooting talents paired with the latter’s impeccable scoring prowess painted the Dub Nation in gold. However, the world only witnessed the formidable tandem for three years before Kevin Durant left for Brooklyn in 2019.

The 12-time NBA All-Star’s tenure with the Brooklyn Nets has yet to bear any fruit. He will, however, be hoping to make a charge at the ultimate silverware and hush the naysayers who question his legacy as an NBA player.
