The first round of the NBA playoffs has just been wrapped up. With a landslide win in game 6, thanks to LeBron James and his dominating performance, the Los Angeles Lakers are headed to the Western Conference semifinals against the Golden State Warriors. The Lakers’ round one win against the Memphis Grizzlies was much rejoiced by fans after all the trash-talking and aggressive displays from the Grizzlies players. Alongside the fans, an NFL legend came out in support of James and Co. online, just as he has in the live games as well. 

A well-deserved and hard-earned victory certainly calls for a celebration, however, it seems that the festivities were cut short after FS1 host and NFL legend Shannon Sharpe’s remark sent fans into a spiral of confusion.

LeBron James and Co.’s victory celebration disrupted

NFL legend Shannon Sharpe has been a loyal Lakers fan for some time now. He has often been spotted at the team’s games supporting them and especially King James, or GOAT James, as Sharpe likes to call LeBron. The former NFL player is such an ardent fan that he even got himself into an altercation with Ja Morant’s father during one of the regular season’s games. 

After the Lakers’ game-6 win sent the Grizzlies packing, Sharpe took to his Twitter handle to take a jab at Grizzlies‘ Dillon Brooks asking if he had any comments now like he did post game-2. And while King James had chosen to remain silent in response to Brooks’ insults, after winning the series, he took to his Instagram and shared a hyped up post captioned, “If you ever see me fighting in the forest with a Grizzly bear, HELP THE BEAR.”

The post and caption had garnered a lot of attention from fans and others in the hoops world alike. However, Shannon Sharpe decided to spoil the party with his surprising comment.

One would think that fans would be too overjoyed by the Lakers winning to let anything overshadow the revelry. However, it seems that much like Shannon Sharpe, the fans too have let the intrusive thoughts take over. Just like a Twitter user said, “Shannon let the intrusive thoughts take over”.

Fans are having a field day with Shannon’s comment on James’ post. The NFL legend wrote, “I’m pouring honey on you GOAT. It’s illegal to kill a bear unless being attack. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣”
