NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is known for calling a spade a spade. About a year ago, the four-time NBA champion was delivering high praise for the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. Shaq even called the 26-year-old a “White guy with swag: and compared Burrow to himself. However, a year later, making Burrow a part of the conversation based around Angel Reese, Shaq seems to have switched his tone on the Bengals star.

A locker room video of Joe Burrow had caught the attention of the Los Angeles Lakers legend last year. Burrow was seen dancing in the video while smoking a cigar. The 2020 National Championship Game’s offensive MVP and passing touchdown record holder for a season in FBS was recently discussed by Shaq again. This time, however, not in the tone that Burrow was accustomed to. On the recent episode of The Big Podcast, the Big Man delivered a seven-word insult for the 2021 NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

Shaq said that Reese “delivered the package” referring to her recent record-breaking victory. In 2019, Burrow had an unbelievable season with a 76.3% completion rate out of 527 attempts. Burrow won the coveted Heisman Trophy, and he finished the season with a career-high 5,671 yards passing. Although the 15x NBA All-Star acknowledged that “Joe Burrow got it done a couple of years ago” he ended his statement with an insult for the NFL star. Shaq said, “She’s way more athletic than he is” while continuing to sing high praise for Reese.

However, in the past, Shaq has praised the Bengals quarterback as well. In fact, Shaq even compared his fellow LSU graduate with himself.

What did Shaq say about Joe Burrow after the Bengals made it to the Super Bowl last year?

Last year, Shaq described Burrow as a WGWS. He explained, “He’s a White Guy With Swag.” Shaq even compared the football star with himself while saying that when the cameras turn on “professionalism takes over” just like it did with the man himself. Shaq had said that Burrow is different from the pack.

He said, “When everybody’s celebrating, he’s sitting with his legs on top of legs, and smoking a cigar.” This was about a year ago. Now, Shaq has gone from comparing someone to himself to putting a young college star over the 26-year-old.
