Getting inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is one of the few ways that NBA stars are honored for their brilliance and dedication to basketball. Since 1959, over 436 athletes, referees, coaches, and other professionals associated with the sport have been inducted. Another interesting aspect of the ceremony is who presents these legends in the Hall of Fame. As the Hall Of Fame presenters for 2023 were announced yesterday, Dwyane Wade’s choice caught people by surprise.
But which legend will present The Flash over the weekend in August in Massachusets?

A few hours ago, a list of all the presenters for the upcoming ceremony was revealed. From the same, it was found that Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson will be the one presenting former Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade into the Hall of Fame.
Wade, who retired in 2019, is receiving this honor after having devoted 16 years of his life to the NBA. The news comes only 3 years after Wade became the fifth player of the Miami Heat to have his jersey retired. ‘wade_legacy’, an Instagram handle with over 62600 followers, reported the news on their account via a post.

Wade himself took to Instagram to share the post on his story, captioning it “It’s only right! The coldest number 3s”. The future Hall of Famer tagged Allen Iverson in the story as well. However, some fans found it strange that Wade chose AI over his great friend and former teammate, Chris Bosh.

During his time with the Miami Heat, the 13× NBA All-Star formed a close partnership with LeBron James and Chris Bosh, being referred to as the ‘Big Three’. The pair of Wade and Bosh have remained close even after retirement. From going on vacations to celebrating major holidays, the duo has established a relationship that extends beyond the confines of a basketball court. Despite this fact, Wade didn’t choose the 39-year-old NBA Legend as the one who will present him in August.
Though they have never been teammates, Wade and Iverson have competed against each other on numerous occasions. In the past, Wade has been quite open about the influence that Allen Iverson has had on him. He even once claimed that Iverson was the reason Wade bore the No. 3 on his jersey throughout his career.

Other players who will be inducted in the ceremony include Pau Gasol, Tony Parker, Dirk Nowitzki, etc. In the end, Dwyane Wade chose his inspiration over a friendship to be by his side during a moment that will be remembered by him and his fans for years to come.
