Despite Heartbreaking 2016 News, Dwyane Wade Discards Having Any Hard Feelings to Focus on the Next Chapter of His Life

Dwyane Wade is one of the most eccentric and noteworthy players to have played in the NBA during the 2010s. A Miami Heat legend, the Chicago native is well respected in the city of vice as he is their all-time leading scorer. Known for his explosiveness, excellent game sense, and fast-paced approach, Dwyane was fondly called ‘The Flash’. Drafted in 2003 the legendary guard spent 16 years in the league before retiring in 2019.

Although retiring early due to reoccurring injuries, Wade has since gone on to become a successful businessman. Advocating his life to become the voice for black makers, the former all-star has taken on his new role seamlessly post-retirement. While he did retire in Miami, the legend had a brief exodus from his beloved team during the 2016-17 season. The star recently opened up on his infamous exit, as he discarded any hard feelings from that time.

During a recent appearance on the ‘LeBatard Show’, 13x all-star D-Wade opened up on his exit from Miami as he discarded any hard feelings towards the franchise. The exodus which was mostly in regard to wage disputes was a learning curve for Wade as he revealed. “That’s gotta be water under the bridge for me. You know I have to move on, I have to learn from it and how to be better.

Explaining that all of us do have some kind of regret within Wade stated, “People are lying to you if they say they have no regrets in life.” Expressing his regrets over how he left, the 2006 finals MVP continued. “I wish I can get back that summer of 2016. Not to come back but to have different conversations.

Revealing that a different flow of conversation could have yielded positive results. Wade elucidated any hard feelings that may have arisen at the time as he was more thankful for the move. Joking that it helped bring Jimmy Butler to the organization, the legend stated. “Everybody should be thankful for that because Jimmy Butler is in Miami.

While his exit in 2016 may have been very unceremonious, Dwyane Wade did return to Miami eventually. Returning to Vice City in 2018, the legend retired in the city as he dropped a triple-double in his final game. During the same interview, Wade spoke about his relationship with the organization now as he retorted, “I like my relationship with the organization right now.”

While he continues to share a great relationship with the organization, the Miami legend is currently the executive at another NBA team. Purchasing a minority stake in the Utah Jazz in 2021, he has transitioned well into his life post-retirement. Still very much a part of the Miami fabric, Wade was appreciative of his time there as he stated. “My love for Miami and my fan base is forever.
