Who knew Paul Pierce’s trip to China could turn into ridicule for the Los Angeles Clippers? The losing streak to start the tenure of James Harden in LA has not only made the team look weak but also a lab rat for everyone’s mockery. The latest to join were none other than the 2008 NBA champions, Kevin Garnett and Pierce. Using their podcast as a platform to share criticism of the modern NBA, the Boston Celtics duo decided to mock the Clippers.

Pierce got back on the court during his trip to China. Getting back in touch with his basketball side, the Hall of Famer believes he can help the Clippers with their recent struggles. Here’s how.

The 2008 Finals MVP shared, “I missed all my free throws. I went like 1 for 8… I was getting up and down the court though… I was getting some fast break layups. I got a couple of fast break layups where I looked like I ran… and cut through the middle, and one.”

Garnett questioned, “Matter fact, can you be in that locker room right now in the Clippers and give Ty Lue anything?” Pierce replied, “I can give them some advice,” as the two couldn’t control their laughter. Garnett added, “It can’t get worse, lord. Can’t get worse!”

Pierce shared, “I could get you like, let me see… I can get you a trial three still. I can get you six rebounds for sure. I’m strong among these youngsters.” When questioned how many minutes he can play, Pierce replied, “12 minutes…3 minutes a quarter. ”

Further, Pierce shared his focus will be only on rebounds and he will not be a scorer. Well, that sounds apt for the Clippers!

Can the Clippers make use of James Harden?

With all their four stars starting, the Clippers are having big trouble when it comes to scoring. The responsibility is falling on all four, which is sacrificing defense and rebounds. Pierce and KG hinted at that in their podcast as well. Russell Westbrook has taken a huge step by requesting to come off the bench. However, there are still three big stars in the starting five.

The team is 0-6 since the James Harden trade and has a lot of work to do. According to many, the 34-year-old is a liability for the team at the moment. The ‘Beard‘ is yet to win a game this season. The playoff pressure has already started for the LA unit.
