GQ recently held its Men of the Year awards. The annual event is held to celebrate stars from culture, fashion, and sports. As fashion and basketball go hand in hand, the Miami Heat legend, Dwyane Wade, was in attendance at the event. But the 3x champion shocked the fans as there was a major change in his appearance.

Although the lights were bright on Wade, he was joined by other stars too, from various industries. But none was as impressive as Kim Kardashian, who recently turned heads with the controversy surrounding GQ’s Men of the Year award magazine. Yet Kardashian proved to everyone why she belongs among the best in the business. Amidst the pompous presence of these A-listers, Jalen Green, too, made sure that he was taken note of.

The theme for the event was ‘Modern Red Carpet’. Wade decided to wear Givenchy for the event. He revealed that he went for the blush outfit. Wade said that his pants are light blush and his sleeveless shirt is a real blush color.

As winter is approaching, Wade knows that there are not many opportunities in the near future where he can have his hands out freely. So he felt that it was the right time to wear the outfit. But one thing that everyone noticed was his hair color. He dyed his hair to what he called a ‘bone-broth’ color.

Jalen Green was another NBA star who joined the event. He was accompanied by comedian Druski. The two made a video earlier in the day where Druski was the stylist for Jalen Green. Green wore a pin-striped suit without a shirt. As Green was showing his chest, Druski wanted to do the same.

So Druski wore black shorts and a white shirt, which was fully unbuttoned. Druski wanted to twin with Green, and it’s safe to say that the two were having a good time at the event. However, it was Kim Kardashian who stole the limelight.

Kim Kardashian walked out with gold

Amidst all the fun and frolic, there were a lot of controversies as well regarding GQ’s choice of models for their new magazine cover for the Men of the Year awards. It was triggered after GQ released the list of models that were on the cover of their MOTY magazine. It was Jacob Elordi, Kim Kardashian, and Travis Scott, with special guest Tom Ford. Although GQ has never specifically mentioned that this is a gender-based award show, fans were quick to show their displeasure on social media after Kim Kardashian was announced as a cover model.

This did not hold any value, as Kim Kardashian also won the Tycoon of the Year award. This is because her clothing line, SKIMS, recently released a men’s line. It has already been doing great and making headlines in the basketball community.

Adam Silver recently announced SKIMS as the official underwear partner of the NBA, the WNBA, and USA Basketball. It is a multi-year partnership with the brand. Kim Kardashian, however, was unfazed by all the negativities and dazzled in one of the most eye-catching outfits. She wore a blonde outfit and matched her dress to her hair color.

I did not follow the traditional route to become a journalist, but my love for basketball and writing has brought me here. Seeing LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers make the iconic comeback from a 1-3 deficit in 2016 changed everything for a young engineering aspirant within me. Rather than simply looking at the game, I love to analyze how each player contributes to a team using BPM (Box Plus Minus) and other advanced metrics.
