Shaquille O’Neal has earned one of the most prestigious honors in the history of basketball. The Los Angeles Lakers forever immortalized the big man by sculpting a 1200-pound statue of the 4x champion outside the Crypto.com arena. While his kids are nowhere near the $400 million net worth of Shaquille O’Neal in terms of life achievements, his youngest daughter is taking baby steps towards it. For starters, she recently got her very own bobblehead after making the McDonald’s All-American team.

However, this memorable moment for the 17-year-old was sadly ruined as her name, Me’Arah O’Neal, was spelled incorrectly on the bobblehead.

The Episcopal Knights star shared an image of the bobblehead on her Instagram Story and wrote, “my own bobble head.” She also added, “****don’t mind the typo,” as her name ‘Me’Arah O’Neal’ was spelled ‘Me’Rah O’Neal’.

It was funny to see that the figure had everything correct except for the name of the athlete, which it was made after. Even the jersey and the name of the high school were perfectly shown with her jersey number 2 and her school’s name, Episcopal.

Despite all this, the young star seemed excited to have started to make her own mark. It is difficult to step out of the shadows of Shaquille O’Neal’s father; however, with her recent recognition in the 2024 McDonald’s All-American game and the numerous offers the young star has already received from universities, Me’Arah O’Neal is sure to carve out her own path in the future.

One take at a time

I did not follow the traditional route to become a journalist, but my love for basketball and writing has brought me here. Seeing LeBron James? Cleveland Cavaliers make the iconic comeback from a 1-3 deficit in 2016 changed everything for a young engineering aspirant within me. Rather than simply looking at the game, I love to analyze how each player contributes to a team using BPM (Box Plus Minus) and other advanced metrics.
