We are just a few matchups away from the end of LeBron James vs Stephen Curry battles. At the age of 39 and 35, the two continue to stay in their prime to deliver a double OT thriller on a Saturday night. James added another historic stat to his bag with 36 points, 20 rebounds, and 12 assists, while Stephen Curry dropped a 46-piece. Fans reminisced about the famous Game 7 Final from 2016 while watching both the 4-time champions go back and forth at each other. Well, that is one way to describe their battle, but we have Kendrick Perkins who has brought a new ‘Disney World‘ perspective to it.

The Boston Celtics champion shared, “The league has been great. We have been watching 70 pieces put up by people, we have been watching people go for 60 pieces. That’s like the circus. But when it comes down to Bron and Steph matching up, it’s like Disney World. The magical ride, the space jam and you want to talk about the extra, talk about the food.” That’s a precise description of the match-up, considering the revenue that this entertainment industry makes. Disney World’s estimated daily income is around 5.49 million, which helps it generate $2 billion in revenue each year. If James and Curry went back and forth once a week, then this could be the metrics of the viewership!

Perkins credits the two superstars, “We are watching two old heads, one is a senior citizen and one is on the verge of being one, still looking like they in prime, giving us the best moment of Saturday going toe-to-toe. It was everything. That was Disney World!”

Stephen Curry’s Warriors vs LeBron James’ Lakers’ record-breaking viewership in 2023

The Conference semi-final series between James and Curry last year set record-breaking numbers. The 6 game battle had an average viewership of around 7.8 million across three streaming platforms, ABC, ESPN, and TNT. The NBA announced that it was the most-watched conference semi-finals series in 27 years.

Now imagine if it was a Finals match-up! The viewership would have easily hit the 10 million mark.

We could get another battle in the postseason if the Warriors move up the table quickly. The odds are too low at the moment but do not forget what these two championship teams are capable of. Do you think another Lakers vs Warriors series can set a new record for viewership again this season?

I could have never imagined getting a shoutout from Los Angeles Lakers icon Shaquille O'Neal and the rap legend 50 Cent on Instagram. But they say 'Dreams Do Come True' right? This is what EssentiallySports has given me. Covering trade rumors, contract signings, lives of NBA superstars and legends has been my go-to thing.
