“Ugly” Bol Bol Cannot Surpass Victor Wembanyama Despite Superior Skills, as Per Ex-Lakers Star

Comparisons between Bol Bol and Victor Wembanyama are unavoidable: both youngsters are being dubbed as the next big thing in the league and expectations are through the roof. However, ex-Los Angeles Lakers star Kwame Brown believes that Wemby is going to be more successful, and he has an absurd reason for it.

Although Brown agrees that Bol Bol is more skilled and has better potential as a player, the Sudanese is “ugly” and that might be a problem in his rise to fame.

The 41-year-old was asked about what he likes in Wemby during his recent appearance on Broken Play. Brown said, “He’s just that tall doing what he do. I think Bol Bol is the same type of player.” The ex-Lakers star said that he agrees with Shaquille O’Neal’s opinion on the two youngsters of the game. As for the popularity and marketability contest in the league, Brown believes that it will be a steep climb up for Bol Bol. He said, “He’s just not marketable. He ugly. I mean, people won’t tell the truth, he’s not marketable. I’m not trying to be mean but that’s just the truth of the matter.”

Brown said, “What does Wembanyama do that Bol Bol can’t do?” The 41-year-old is of the opinion that the Phoenix Suns star is a superior athlete when compared to the San Antonio Spurs star. However, the one element that he talked about is the reason why Bol Bol can never be at the forefront.

Shaquille O’Neal’s opinion on the Victor Wembanyama-Bol Bol comparison

What Brown said about the two stars seems to be the popular opinion in the NBA world. The league’s favorite Big Man, Shaquille O’Neal has also said something similar, and the difference between Wemby and Bol Bol as per Shaq is that the latter is “lazy.” Shaq said, “I am comparing, and Wemby wants it more. Bol Bol is lazy as f***. But Bol Bol can do everything Wemby can do and even a little better. Dribble behind the back, shoot the 3, nice handle, the floater game. He’s just lazy.”

Shaq said that people were hyping up Wembanyama’s dribble and shooting threes like he was the first one to do it. As per the Big Man’s record book, Bol Bol was the first one to do it and has more potential. But his being lazy might prove to be an obstacle in his career.
