Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers reacted to his son, Austin Rivers, recent comments on Instagram about the league’s restart.
Austin Rivers, currently a Houston Rockets player, wrote on Instagram recently about the league’s restart. While he praised Kyrie Irving‘s stance for the ongoing protests, he believed the league’s restart wouldn’t affect the protests. He felt the money that the league brings would give back to the society.
“Trying to find the correlation. Us coming back would be putting money in all our pockets,” Rivers commented. “With this money, you could help out even more people and continue to give more importantly your time and energy towards the BLM movement.”

In a recent appearance on the Flying Coach with Steve Kerr and Pete Carroll, Doc Rivers shared how he felt about the post.
“I’m embarrassed to say, I was out golfing and I keep getting these texts saying ‘I love what your son said,’” Rivers said (H/T Space City Scoop). “As a parent, the first thing you think is oh gosh, what did he say?
“I was very proud of Austin, I told him that. I said ‘finally I have some pride about you, son.’”

Doc Rivers and Los Angeles Clippers will be eyeing a deep post season run when the resumes. The arrival of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George last summer proved to be a great addition to the team. Their arrival made them Championship contenders for the season and probably the seasons to come by.
Austin Rivers on Kyrie Irving, restarting the season: "I love Kyrie's passion towards helping this movement…I'm with it…but in the right way & not at the cost of the whole NBA & players careers. We can do both. We can play & we can help change the way black lives are lived." pic.twitter.com/GMmyVz9nEF
