A lot of Miami’s success this season can be credited to Bam Adebayo. His blocks and defense have stolen the show plenty in the Playoffs. However, the Miami Heat center is up for a contract extension in the upcoming offseason.

This may be worrisome, and the reason for this could be Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Milwaukee Bucks’ star is about to enter free agency.

Thus, if the Greek Freak does not sign a super-max extension contract, he will become the most wanted player in 2020-21’s free agency.

Miami Heat, who wants to build an even better team, would not miss a chance to attain this lethal weapon. But this poses a threat to Bam Adebayo.

Providing Adebayo with a huge contract could hurt their cap space for the following season, which is essential if they want to take up Giannis. In this confusing and critical situation, Miami Heat Legend Chris Bosh offered the franchise some good-willed advice.

Miami Heat should bring in Giannis without kicking out Bam Adebayo

According to Shams Charania, “Miami is preparing to go all-in on the pursuit of Milwaukee’s two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2021 free agency, sources said.

“There is a school of thought that salary-wise, waiting on Adebayo’s extension would allow for as much space as possible for 2021.”

However, the 11-time NBA All-star featured on the Complex’s Load Management podcast and said he would not take Bam out if he was the General Manager.

“If it’s me in the GM’s chair, I’m locking Bam up right away. Will be no thoughts, nothing necessary. You can put that to the side.”

Besides Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo was the one holding the fort for the team. Giving him up would be a huge mistake for Miami.

Bosh gave an alternative way to pursue Giannis. “There’s always a way to figure out cap space… You can concentrate on getting as far into the salary cap as you can. Probably have a trade scenario in my pocket. Just in case there’s a sign and trade opportunity.”

This means that the Heat should just be prepared with a trade package when the situation arises. And there is no way Bam should be given up so easily.
