Things have just taken an unexpected turn in Provo. Just a day before the BYU Cougars clash against the Holy Cross Crusaders, Kevin Young’s squad has suspended their key player and freshman star, AJ Dybantsa, for the first half of Saturday’s game after a practice incident sent shockwaves through the locker room.

According to reports, the 18-year-old forward violated BYU’s Church Educational System Honor Code by using profanity during team practice earlier today, making the school immediately act on the breach and announce the disciplinary measure.

While his absence in the first half of the game would have a serious impact, as in BYU’s season opener, AJ led the team by scoring the most points (21) and assists (3) in the game, ultimately helping the Cougars secure their first game of the 2025-26 NCAA season.
