Even after breaking the all-time scoring record, Caitlin Clark refuses to slow down. The NCAA’s leading scorer is keeping her red-hot form intact and helping the Iowa Hawkeyes progress with ease. She displayed yet another impactful performance for the Hawkeyes in an important quarterfinal game against the 7th seed, Penn State Nittany Lions. The dynamic point guard added another jewel to her crown by doing justice to her ‘female Steph Curry’ title.

As it turns out, Caitlin Clark now holds the NCAA Division I record for most 3-pointers in a season. She surpassed Steph Curry‘s tally of 162 beyond-the-arc shots from the 2007-08 season. Soon after, Clark joined Justine Fernandez and Shimmy Grey Miller’s live game break to reflect more on her recent accomplishment. She was asked whether she knew she had passed Steph Curry with her first three. To this, she replied, “It took me a while. But, that’s what makes it fun and you know some of the best shooters in the world, they have off nights like that from the three-point line. But they all felt good and that’s all you can ask.”

Immediately, she heaped praise on the Golden State Warriors point guard and how he has been a role model for her growing up. She further added, “Steph’s amazing. Somebody that I grew up idolizing. So, pretty cool moment.”

A combined team effort saw last year’s NCAA finalists light up the Target Center while crushing the Lady Lions 95-62. Clark was again the top scorer on the night with her double-double performance of 24 points and 10 rebounds. In addition to this, she received comprehensive support from Iowa’s talented No.3 Sydney Affolter (18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists) and fellow senior guard Kate Martin (11 points and 9 rebounds).
