Jalen Milroe is the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft! At least that’s what some NFL entities are saying and it’s not hard to see why. Despite being led under a new HC Kalen DeBoer, the Alabama QB proved his offseason hype and maintained Nick Saban’s winning culture in all four games played with a dominant 188-60 record after the last victory over No. 2 Georgia.

Jalen Milroe led the Crimson Tide to a 41-34 victory over Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs who hasn’t allowed a touchdown this season. Following the victory, ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown had the Alabama QB in their discussion as a top 1 NFL Draft pick. As uploaded by ESPNNFL on X on September 29, former NFL coach Rex Ryan told his host Mike Greenberg, “Why the hell isn’t Milroe the first overall pick? I tell you what, that guy was impressive.

When Jalen Milroe met the No. 1 pick favorite Carson Beck in the SEC showdown, it flipped the public’s opinions on who would be the top pick. Greenberg then teased his guests with a statement from ESPN insider Field Yates who told him that “Jalen Milroe may have made himself the first pick in the draft.”

Which Prospects should OSU target next?

Let Tony do the scouting, you just make the pick.

In the last game against a team that hasn’t allowed any touchdowns, Jalen Milroe broke their pride with four touchdowns. He completed 27 of 33 passes for 374 yards while also running for 117 yards on 16 carries, proving his dual-threat ability which Ryan insists is what NFL teams are looking for in a QB. In four games, the dual-threat star scored 10 TDs through the air and eight TDs on the ground. There’s a huge chance that he’s going to be a Heisman winner too!

Jalen Milroe’s Heisman odds rise

As far as the Heisman race goes, Jalen Milroe has cemented his spot at No. 2 just behind Colorado’s Travis Hunter through week 5. This win not only took Alabama one step closer to the playoffs but it allowed Jalen Milroe to “handle his business” and shut up his critics, according to Stephan A. Smith. In fact, his great performance not only impressed analysts across the country, but also his Heisman odds went from +700 to +225 during the game and then to +200 after.

On the other hand, Carson Beck suffered under Alabama as he completed 27 of 50 passes for 439 yards and three touchdowns only to experience their first-season defeat. Now, Alabama’s perfect ‘undefeated’ record will be put to the test in October as they face two ranked teams. But with Milroe at the forefront of the Heisman Trophy and a potential No. 1 NFL Draft pick, it’s not difficult to paint the best picture for Kalen DeBoer’s first year in Tuscaloosa.
