For Fred Warner, this year is shaping up to be a year of momentum and growth. Fresh off signing a three-year, $63 million extension with the 49ers, which made him the highest-paid linebacker in the league, Warner remains the heartbeat of San Francisco’s defense. So much so that even defensive coordinator Robert Saleh calls him a “first-ballot Hall of Famer”. The catch is, even his off-field life is taking a trajectory that can only be described as the best.

Just hours before the linebacker took the field for the 49ers against the Cardinals, his wife Sydney Warner (née Hightower) dropped a major update on Instagram. “Baby Warner #2 coming 2026 🤍✨ Living the best days of our lives 🙏🏽,” the caption read alongside a carousel of photos of the happy family. The caption also included a biblical verse from Jeremiah 1:5. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”

Notably, this comes a year and a half after the couple had welcomed their first child, Beau Anthony, on March 7, 2024, just weeks after Fred played in Super Bowl LVIII. On that occasion, Sydney had remarked how Beau’s birth was “the best day of our lives.” And, even Fred admitted, “Holding him for the first time, I knew my life had a new purpose.” But Beau Anthony’s birth wasn’t a smooth sailing…

As Sydney had informed on Instagram back then, “The past 17 months of Beau’s entire life, he has had clogged tear ducts! One eye cleared at around 13 months and then the other. We treated it with special drops month after month, prescription after prescription, and nothing would help it open”. 17 months after his birth, Beau even had to undergo surgery. Giving an update on that, Sydney wrote, “Thankfully, our surgery was only an hour, but thinking about families that have to endure hours upon hours of surgeries that are 100% more risky than this literally breaks my heart,” Sydney admitted. And when Beau returned, relief took over. She wrote, “And just like that, time started moving again, and my baby is healthy and can finally have clear eyes! Praise God.”
