Aaron Rodgers has added another feather to his cap! The “Most Inspirational Award” was a New York Jets peculiar which was first awarded in 1992. Dennis Byrd was the first recipient of the award and since then, the award has been named after him. What did he win the award for? He had overcome a brief neck paralysis and started walking again within the span of a few months. Drawing parallels between the two. Could there have been a better candidate than Aaron Rodgers?

It rained awards at the Jets camp. Several other players also received awards. So, what were these awards, and which players were lucky enough to return home with one? The awards ranged from the “Good Guy Award” to the “Most Courageous Player Award”.

We all know how it unfolded. Just four plays into the season opener game against the Buffalo Bills, the 4x NFL MVP tore his Achilles heel. Following that, he was constantly in the headlines. For what? Because of his recovery, which many thought would take at least six months. However, the legend started walking within a couple of months. The Jets took to X to share the news that he had won the “Dennis Byrd Award” for the “Most Inspirational Player”.

If one went through the Internet, not many were happy with Rodgers getting the award. They felt that he just played four snaps of his maiden game with the team, and did not warrant an award. But with his stunning pace of recovery, he has become the only NFL player to recover so soon. With the Jets out of the playoff picture this season, can he make a stunning comeback in 2024?

The prize also had some whacky awards such as the “Rookie Who Acts Like a Pro in the Locker Room Award”. And who was the recipient of this? Wideout Xavier Gipson bagged this particular award. The “Good Guy Award” was taken home by TE Tyler Conklin. Justin Hardee stole hearts with his philanthropy this year. And for his contribution, he was given the “Player Who Gives from the Heart through Charity” Award. “Most Courageous Player” and “Selfless Player Award” were won by Ed Block and CJ Mosley respectively.
