The Buffalo Bills have finally brought in some much-needed help after they struggled with the passing game in the last few games. Head coach Sean McDermott has been vocal about these issues. Now, as the team finds a new hope with some roster changes, quarterback Josh Allen broke his silence on the matter.

“I think we’ve always had the wherewithal and the opportunities to do that. Now going out there and executing is a different story. I think that again this last week we executed at a high level for the most part,” he said when asked if there have been any improvements in the situation with WRs.
“But again, still a lot of room to grow, still learning. And ultimately, our main goal, no matter what it takes, is just to find a way to win the football game.”

The lack of reliable wide receivers was evident in the last few games. After the Bills suffered an embarrassing loss to the Miami Dolphins, coach McDermott didn’t mince his words while calling out the lack of the passing game.
“We’ve got a great quarterback and you want to be able to move the ball two dimensionally,” he said. “We should be able to move the ball with Josh through the air. But it can’t just be one phase of your offense; it’s got to be too. It starts up front with the line of scrimmage.”

As per reports, the Bills’ best receivers, Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman, averaged only 6.1 yards per target in the game. Allen’s time to throw was 3.53 seconds, and that was his longest in the last six years. Some even pointed out that even when the passing game was better, it wasn’t because of the WRs.
Fortunately, the team made a few moves to improve the WR situation. The team added Mecole Hardman to the active roster and elevated wide receiver Gabe Davis from the practice squad before their 44-32 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, with new injury woes, the Bills have a problem before their game against the Houston Texans in Week 12.
The Buffalo Bills might not have Keon Coleman in Week 12
Wide receiver Coleman was benched against the Buccaneers for disciplinary reasons related to punctuality. In his absence, Tyrell Shavers made the most of his snaps. However, the Bills might need Coleman for the next game.

However, the Bills have yet to comment on whether Coleman will suit up against the Texans. This doesn’t sound like a good update while the Bills are struggling with injuries. Tight end Dalton Kincaid was ruled out for Week 11 for his hamstring issue. Hardman is dealing with a calf issue, while wide receiver Curtis Samuel is dealing with a neck problem.
Both have missed practices. This leaves the Bills needing all the help they can get at wide receiver. Coach McDermott was recently asked about Coleman’s availability for the game.

“It’s one day at a time and earning the trust and respect of his teammates, that takes time,” McDermott said. “Each day that goes by, you check them off as wins, the trust builds. So, that’s the important piece of it.”

Now, if coach McDermott decides to bench Coleman again, the team will have to explore other options. They can hope wide receiver Elijah Moore steps up if Hardman and Samuel were to miss time. The team might even consider adding wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., whose name has surfaced in recent rumors.
In any case, the Bills will need to make a quick decision.
