After a disappointing defeat against the Baltimore Ravens in his first NFL start, things have gone from bad to worse for young Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders. As the former Colorado Buffaloes QB went 4-for-16 for 47 yards with an interception while being sacked twice in the 23-16 defeat, Sanders’ home in Cleveland had a break-in. A recent report by ESPN‘s Daniel Oyefusi revealed further details regarding the incident.

“Approximately $200,000 in property was stolen from Browns rookie QB, Shedeur Sanders’ home during a break-in on Sunday during Cleveland’s game against the Ravens, according to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office. The incident is under investigation. Video footage captured three suspects entering the home.” Oyefusi reported, sharing a press release from the authorities on X.

The statement by the Medina County sheriff’s deputies revealed that thieves broke into the home shortly after 6:45 p.m. and left before 7 p.m. The incident occurred as the Browns-Ravens game ended at Huntington Bank Field. The thieves wore masks and gloves and ran off with the items.

Coming back to the game, Shedeur Sanders entered the game in the second half of the loss after fellow rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel went down with a concussion. Now, looking forward to the Week 12 clash against the Las Vegas Raiders, it will be interesting to see if Sanders gets his first NFL start with Cleveland’s QB injury crisis.

Will Shedeur Sanders start against the Las Vegas Raiders?

Alongside Dillon Gabriel’s concussion concern, the other Cleveland Browns QB, Deshaun Watson, is still far from starting, with the franchise deciding against opening his training window this week, according to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot. The report also revealed whether Sheuder Sanders will get his first NFL start.

“The #Browns will not open Deshaun Watson’s practice window this week, league source says. It means that in addition to Shedeur Sanders making his first #NFL start vs. the #Raiders (99.9% happening), Bailey Zappe will be the backup,” Mary Kay Cabot wrote on X.

So far this season, Cleveland has struggled deeply with its quarterback play. The Browns have an overall passing offense of just 159.3 yards per game alongside 4.1 passing yards per play, which ranks last in the NFL. Cleveland is also dead last for team passing EPA (Expected Points Added), per Next Gen Stats.

With that said, Shedeur Sanders now has the golden opportunity he has been waiting for through the 2025-26 season. With all the hype and attention around the son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, all eyes will be on Allegiant Stadium this coming Sunday.
