According to ESPN senior reporter Jeremy Fowler‘s latest tweet, Bucky Irving is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Seahawks. updates regarding Irving’s foot sprain injury came in bits and pieces. After suffering the injury on Sunday, Head Coach Todd Bowles revealed on Monday that Irving has suffered an injury and will need further testing. Although he didn’t tell anything about the severity of the injury, he admitted that he worried about Irvin’s status. The later updates about Irving wearing a boot and using crutches were provided by Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. “Bucs RB Bucky Irving was wearing a boot on his left foot and was using crutches,” Stroud wrote. Now, after Fowler’s tweet, it looks like Bowles’ concern for Irvin’s injury was genuine.

The chances of Irving missing the two games would be a big blow for the Buccaneers because

Irving was static on the gridiron. Irving is coming off his best game of the 2025 season, totaling 63 rushing yards, 102 receiving yards, and a touchdown in Week 4 against the Eagles. Through four games, Irving has totaled 430 yards from scrimmage. With Irving sidelined, Rachaad White and Sean Tucker will take on larger roles, while rookie Josh Williams is expected to be active as the third running back.

In the four games White has played this season, he has tallied 23 carries for 108 yards (4.7 yards per carry). He had one TD and added 8 receptions for 34 yards. It will be interesting to see how White performs in the absence of Irving and how the Buccaneers overcome their injured offensive line.

Injuries have been an ongoing issue for Tampa Bay’s offense

Although the Buccaneers have been exceptional throughout the season and are sitting at 3-1, the team’s offensive room has its fair share of injuries. All of this began with the team entering the season without the big names. The team entered the season without star left tackle

Tristan Wirfs, who had arthroscopic knee surgery in July 2025. The roaster didn’t even have WR Chris Godwin, who suffered a dislocated ankle in Week 7 of the 2024 season. This was followed by injuries in the ongoing season.

The team then lost right guard

Cody Mauch in week 2, who suffered a season-ending injury. The injured room was later joined by Mike Evans due to his hamstring injury and will be sidelined for multiple weeks. Although the Wirfs and Godwin returned to the roster in week 4, now it’s Irving who will miss a significant time.

Earlier, Tampa Bay was worried about Irving missing the upcoming Sunday game only, but now he will be out for even longer than that. Although the Bucs have the depth to deal with Irving’s injury, they would hope that he will join the roster soon and continue to deliver excellence on the gridiron.
