The Kansas City Chiefs’ disappointing 22-19 loss to the Denver Broncos didn’t give the team or the fans the motivation they had hoped for. This is their second defeat following another loss against the Buffalo Bills. However, as one might expect from a team with a history of multiple wins, center Creed Humphrey isn’t losing hope.

As per The Insiders, Creed Humphrey is using the situation as motivation and sends a strong message to the locker room.

“Right now, this team’s as good as we want it to be. It’s just about executing in the critical situations and being consistent with it,” he said in an interview with The Insider.

“There’s a ton of talent in the building, and everybody loves ball. For us, it’s just keeping our poise, showing up, don’t look into the past, don’t look to the future. Just be where your feet are, take it one day at a time, one meeting at a time, and one game at a time.”

Humphrey simply urged that the team needs to be consistent with their game. This was perhaps also a message to tight end Travis Kelce.

During his interview, Kelce said, “If you’re going to ask me about the record, I could care less about that right now.”

Looking ahead, the Chiefs may feel pressure as their playoff hopes dwindle, while reflecting on the past can be frustrating. Their 10 consecutive postseason appearances are the NFL’s longest active streak, which is four more than the Bills’ six. However, the back-to-back losses left them with a lot of criticism.

ESPN’s Football Power Index gave the Chiefs a 44.6% chance of not making it to the playoffs. It’s rare and shocking, but the team currently sits at the 3rd place in the AFC West with a record of 5-5. Despite this, Creed Humphrey believes that the team isn’t losing hope. They are looking forward to their next game against the Indianapolis Colts.

During this time, the team must have to put faith in each other and head coach Andy Reid. Chiefs play-by-play announcer Mitch Holthus believes that coach Reid will be able to overcome this bad start, as he has witnessed such struggles before. Coach Reid, who has impressive postseason success with several teams during his coaching career, hasn’t given up either.

Is there any hope for the Chiefs and Creed Humphrey to bounce back?

Andy Reid understands that the team has fallen to the No. 9 seed in the conference standings. And one more loss could be troublesome for the Creed Humphrey and his team. But coach Reid is confident that the team will bounce back.

“We’re not quite as negative as the outside world is,” Reid said in an interview with ESPN. “I mean, some of these guys have been through some pretty good seasons. And this one, this isn’t like this one’s lost, so we just got to clean up a few of these things.”

The Chiefs’ struggles against the Broncos once again show the problems on offense rather than defense, which remains one of the league’s best units. The main issue was the wide receiver group, which failed to help the quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.

This forced Mahomes into difficult throws and limited the team’s ability to generate explosive plays. Addressing the wide receiver problem is important for the Kansas City to maintain realistic playoff hopes. And if Coach Reid doesn’t make adjustments soon, their postseason aspirations could be in serious jeopardy. Will the rest of the season for Creed Humphrey and his team get better?
