It’s that time of the year! And players around the NFL want to play Santa Claus. The only non-quarterback player who’s in the NFL MVP race has decided to make a grand gesture toward his teammates ahead of Christmas. On Christmas Day, the San Francisco 49ers will take on the Baltimore Ravens. Both teams are 11-3 and are at the top of their conferences. This is sure to be a playoff-style game as both teams are the number one seed from their respective divisions as well.
But before they head into their battle, someone wants them to celebrate first. So, what was this gift from CMC to his team that even quarterback, and MVP frontrunner Brock Purdy, said that he cannot afford at the moment?

ESPN reporter Nick Wagoner took to X to share a post that is sure to make football fans’ hearts melt. He joked that while we know Brock Purdy is pushing for CMC to be MVP because of his performance; he has just given him another reason to do so. CMC gave his entire offensive teammates a PXG golf bag, a bottle of Celaya tequila, and a coupon for a custom fitting for a new set of clubs.
This is another reason #49ers QB Brock Purdy can tout McCaffrey for MVP:
"Financially I wouldn't be able to cover that right now," Purdy said, laughing. "Shoutout to him, everyone loved it. Thank you, Christian."

Looking at the gifts, even Purdy was forced to say, “Financially, I wouldn’t be able to cover that right now.” And for good reason. While Joe Burrow, who is the highest-paid QB in the league right now, earns a heft salary of $55 million, Purdy earns less than $1 million per year. Burrow has been ruled for the season, Purdy continues to be a front-runner in the MVP race.

It seems that golf is the flavor of this season, as just a few days ago, a QB also gave golf-related gifts to his offensive linemen.

Trevor Lawrence had injured his ankle in a recent game. But instead of waiting for the cart to come to the field and drive him off, he walked to the locker room. He was supported by two officials on his way to the locker room. In memory of that incident, Lawrence made a grand gesture for his O-linemen. He said in the video shared by Front Office Sports, “I had to treat my boys right. They sacrifice a lot for us and for myself, so I had to do something special for them for Christmas.”
Two weeks ago, Trevor Lawrence drew attention after suffering an ankle injury and walking all the way to the locker room instead of using a cart.

The gift? E-Z golf carts, in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ livery for each of his 14 O-linemen. Each cart approximately costs $10,000, so the entire purchase would have generated a bill of $140,000, at least. As Christmas Day approaches, which other players will gift expensive presents to their teammates?
