The Seattle Seahawks are in red-hot form, carrying the sparks from the last few weeks. They crushed the Arizona Cardinals 44-22. The defence and offence were both at their best, with the scoreboard telling the story loud and clear. One highlight of the match featured Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp’s 67-yard catch-and-run, which he failed to convert into a touchdown because of his hamstring.

“I wasn’t really thinking about it until I got to about the 10-yard line, and it felt like I was running around the last leg of the 400 metre dash,” Kupp said during the post-match press conference.
He added, “Unfortunately, I couldn’t get that one in the end zone, but we’ll have to try again soon.” Kupp remains optimistic about his recovery.

The wide receiver suffered a hamstring injury in practice post-Week 7. He last played against the Houston Texans in Week 7 before returning against the Cardinals. After his 67-yard catch-and-run, he has not fully recovered, as he felt heaviness in his legs. If not for his injury, it could have been one of the best plays of the 2025 NFL season.

Suffering a hamstring is nothing new for Cooper Kupp. He faced a similar kind of situation in August 2023. He injured his hamstring during a practice session and was out for a significant time. Other than the hamstring, he underwent surgery after suffering from a high ankle sprain in 2022.

Amidst the Cooper Kupp injury and recovery, the Seattle Seahawks suffered another blow with Jarran Reed requiring a second wrist surgery, as per Seahawks’ head coach, Mike MacDonald.

Seahawks suffer another blow with Jarran Reed’s injury update
Jarran Reed is one of the defensive pillars of the Seattle Seahawks. Going into Week 7, the veteran defensive tackle injured his wrist against the Houston Texans. As a result, he had to undergo surgery. But Reed returned against the Washington Commanders in Week 9 and attended all three practice sessions the following week.

When he was believed to have recovered, Mike MacDonald delivered the upsetting news that he was undergoing another surgery.

“Turns out he has to have another operation,” MacDonald said. “It’s a setback. Your heart goes out to him. Hopefully, this will really stabilize it. First, you’re concerned about him.”
On Saturday, November 8, 2025, Reed’s name was added to the injury list, with ‘thumb’ as his injury designation. Despite the setback, the head coach was full of praise for his defensive tackle. He admired Reed’s physical and mental toughness and wished for a steady recovery.
Jarran Reed is expected to be out for at least three to four weeks as he is currently placed on the IR. Even without him, the defence has been performing pretty great, forcing scoop-and-scores and two sack-fumbles. Jarran Reed’s experience and indomitable presence would have been a boost to the Seahawks’ defence, but it is not too bad without him.
