The Dallas Cowboys are climbing the NFC East and have locked down the second spot, thanks to their season-best 33-16 win over the Raiders. George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb, who missed the opening drive for breaking curfew while out partying, made their return with electric performances. Apparently, they went to blow off some steam and didn’t follow the protocol before the game. But of course, they forgot that their boss is Jerry Jones. And how could a Jerry Jones interview ever be boring? This time, too, he didn’t hold back when asked about the curfew.

“Yes, I do. I don’t have any problem with partying. … But the idea is this is a business trip,” Jerry Jones said on 105.3 The Fan podcast when he was asked if he has a problem with players partying the night before a game

Well, Jerry Jones understands that it is important to inculcate discipline and focus for his team’s success. And not to anyone’s surprise, he had earlier made such calls to grab the headlines.

In the 2017 regular season, he publicly announced that he would bench any player who would kneel during the national anthem. He was even charged by a union in Texas with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), claiming Jones’s threat violated players’ rights under Section 8 of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA).

Despite such harsh reactions, the Cowboys locker room has a good relationship with Jerry Jones. He always gives credit where it’s due.

Jerry Jones praises George Pickens after the Raiders game

Even though the Cowboys cruised to a 33–16 win over the Raiders on Monday, George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb really stood out with top-notch performances. Lamb caught 5 passes for 66 yards, averaging 13.2 yards per reception, while Pickens had one of his best games of the season with 9 catches for 144 yards, averaging 16 yards per reception. Both scored a touchdown and stayed a constant threat on the outside. But it was Pickens who really caught Jerry Jones’ attention.

“I’m so proud for us that we’ve got him,” Jones said. “I don’t know when I’ve seen a guy on a steady basis play as inspirational as he’s playing.”

Pickens’ strong play has pushed him to second in the league in receiving yards (908) and third in touchdowns with 7, putting up true star numbers. After this season, Pickens will become an undrafted free agent. Considering his performances this season, he’s expected to get a huge spike in his paycheck.

By Week 11, Pickens has already recorded 58 catches for 908 yards, proving to be Dak Prescott’s most dependable target this season. Lamb, meanwhile, had 40 catches for 557 yards. Both didn’t play until the second drive for Dallas, but even with limited time on the field, they continued to show why they’re considered two of the league’s top receivers.
