On Sunday, the Cowboys inducted their former coach, Jimmy Johnson, into the Cowboys’ Ring of Honor. He will be celebrated for his achievements on December 30, when the Dallas Cowboys play against the Detroit Lions at the AT&T Stadium. From the tweet from Jane Slater, it looks like Johnson was the heart and soul of the Cowboys when he took over the team.

“A lot of people have talked about the tension between us, but we never disagreed on anything,” Johnson said in response to Jerry Jones. Johnson’s tenure with the Cowboys was the team’s golden era, and Jerry Jones decided to enshrine him with the Ring of Honor.

The stellar tenure of Jimmy Johnson

Johnson joined the Cowboys as their head coach in 1989 when Jones took over the Dallas Cowboys from HR Bright. The Triples, Michael Irvin, Troy Aikman, and Emmitt Smith were brought into the Cowboys to help them win a Super Bowl title. Johnson helped the Cowboys win the Super Bowl in years 4, 5, and 7 of his career with the Dallas Cowboys.
