The talk about Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs hasn’t stopped all season. First, there were whispers of a trade. Now, there’s talk of a cut. But while the front office crunches numbers, the two-time Pro Bowler seems to have found something new for himself. Off the field, he’s already making moves.

The CB shared a playful reel with content creator Mason “Symfuhny” Lanier for NFL Race to the Endzone.

“What’s up, y’all? It’s Symfuhny. I’m here at a ranch in Texas, trading in my controller, the cowboy boots, with one of the NFL’s sharpest defenders, TreVon Diggs. This is NFL Race to the Endzone,” Symfuhny at the start of the video.

Trevon rolls in ready in a white tee, black bandana, cowboy hat, denim knee-length shorts, the classic white belt, and boots to match. He greets the gamer with, “Symfuhny, welcome to the ranch. I gotta see if you got what it takes to be a cowboy.”

While Trevon Diggs is tapping into the entertainment lane, his NFL status tells a different story. His name’s on the list of players who could face cuts to fix the team’s salary cap issues.

Why Brian Schottenheimer will have to cut Trevon Diggs?

The Cowboys’ head coach, Brian Schottenheimer, might have more than game plans on his hands soon. Financial decisions are piling up.

“Cut candidates…Trevon Diggs, $15.5 million after June 1st, $12.56 before. Not massive differences in the savings,” Cowboys Report host Tom Downey said. “You might just do that one regularly.”

Diggs signed a five-year, $97 million deal loaded with $33.3 million guaranteed at signing and $42.3 million guaranteed. His 2025 cap hit clocks in at $12,088,237, eating a chunk of the Dallas Cowboys’ total cap allocation of $286.5 million.

They currently hold just over $20.4 million in cap space, per Spotrac. Add that to a $36.2 million dead cap, and the math starts talking louder than the film. Owner Jerry Jones could open up approximately $100 million in space with some well-timed contract decisions.

That makes someone like Diggs a realistic name on the chopping block. Cutting him post-June 1 would save about $15.5 million, enough to reset some key roster positions ahead of 2026. The Cowboys have major re-signings ahead and limited wiggle room. In Dallas, financial strategy has always been as important as play-calling.
