Dak Prescott, as part of the NFLPA initiative, surprised a fan named Sydney Benton with custom cleats during his #MyCauseMyCleats program. As part of this program, he collaborated with designer Jake Danklefs to create a series of special pairs of cleats. The cleats were designed in memory of Prescott’s mother, Betty Boop, who sadly lost her battle with colon cancer in 2013.

In the video where he is seen gifting the pair of cleats to Sydney, the NFL lover can be seen sporting a big smile. Prescott immediately informs the fan about how inspiring her positivity is and goes on to elaborate on the surprise he holds for her. Sydney can be seen completely shocked with an expression of utter admiration on her face.

The initiative’s purpose goes beyond just customized cleats; it aims to raise awareness about the importance of early screenings for colon cancer. In a touching twist, his San Antonio-based shoe designer Danklefs, shared that he was chosen for this project because he, too, had lost his father to colon cancer a year after the quarterback’s mother passed away.

As revealed by the designer, the shoes will feature the word “mom” on the heel, which basically is an acronym for “mind over matter,” a highlight saying from Prescott’s organization. Addressing the shoes, Danklefs remarked, “It is going to be a pair of shoes and it is going to be a fun game, but the reasoning behind it is what I hope people really take to heart.”

Meanwhile, apart from paying homage to his mother, Prescott is currently having another special moment in his life with his girlfriend, Sarah Jane, that brings immense joy to the football player along with a new role.
