For a coach known for his sideline intensity, what does Brian Daboll’s sudden silence truly signify? Since the firing, Daboll has chosen to step away from the public discourse surrounding his tenure. Rather than engaging with media inquiries, the 50-year-old coach has opted to focus on his personal life, quietly stepping away from the chaos that defined his final weeks in New York.

According to reporting from Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Daboll has been settling back into family life since his firing, celebrating his daughter’s birthday and managing the everyday responsibilities of shuttling his children to their sports and hobbies. When Russini reached out requesting an interview about Daboll’s Giants tenure, the 2022 NFL Coach of the Year politely declined, with the sounds of his close-knit family audible during their brief phone exchange.
This decision to remain silent contrasts sharply with the internal turmoil that defined Daboll’s final weeks with the Giants. ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reported that multiple sources within the organization cited Daboll’s emotional outbursts as a contributing factor to his dismissal. One such moment that came to light was when he was seen snapping at physician Dr. Scott A. Rodeo. The physician was medically evaluating Jaxson Dart after the QB took a hit from Eagles linebacker Patrick Johnson.

Over his tenure, Daboll compiled a 20-40-1 record across nearly four seasons, with the Giants registering a 2-8 start for the third consecutive year. The team’s pattern for blowing fourth-quarter leads, four such losses in the 2025 season alone, became the defining characteristic.
The Giants are behind him, but Daboll’s story isn’t finished. NFL teams and top college programs are already eyeing the 50-year-old coach for their next big move.

Brian Daboll’s coaching future gains momentum after Giants exit
Giants’ rivals Philadelphia Eagles, valued at $8.3 billion, have emerged as a potential landing spot for Brian Daboll. Daboll’s familiarity with the Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts, whom he coached during his one season as offensive coordinator at Alabama in 2017 when the Crimson Tide won the national championship, positions him as an intriguing option. At Alabama, Daboll also coached current Miami Dolphins starter Tua Tagovailoa.

Additionally, if we look at the Eagles’ offense this season, Daboll may be a viable candidate to replace Kevin Patullo should the Eagles’ current offensive coordinator fail to make any improvements. The Eagles’ passing offense ranks low at 191.7 yards per game, with only 16 receiving touchdowns.
The Houston Texans represent another possibility in Daboll’s immediate future, with some speculation suggesting he could serve as an offensive coordinator for the AFC South franchise. Even Penn State University’s coaching search has shown its interest in Daboll for the college head coaching position.
With Mike Kafka stepping in to guide the Giants, all eyes are on where Daboll will land next, as speculation swirls around both NFL and college opportunities.
