Week 11 of the NFL season is over, so it’s time to turn our attention to the new week. I’ve been saying it for weeks, but the fantasy playoffs are right around the corner, and if you’re on the bubble, these next few weeks are your final opportunity to make a playoff push.

Watch What’s Trending Now!

To help you out with setting your week 12 lineup, I’ve gone through and ranked the 20 best fantasy quarterbacks based on their matchups and how I think they’ll perform this week.

Last week was tough. I nailed Josh Allen as the top quarterback for the week, but overall, it was just a weird week for quarterbacks. Only three guys – Allen, Bryce Young and Jacoby Brissett – scored more than 20 points this week (excluding MNF), so the rankings were all out of whack. Justin Fields was QB4, Marcus Mariota was QB8 and Davis Mills was QB9. I don’t think I did all that bad with my rankings; it was just a weird week for passers around the league.

Now, it’s time to hop into my Week 12 QB rankings.

Quarterbacks on bye

  • Bo Nix
  • Tua Tagovailoa
  • Justin Herbert
  • Marcus Mariota

Matchup: Buffalo Bills

C.J. Stroud should return from his concussion, which caused him to miss two weeks, in Week 12. He hasn’t been great this season, but the Buffalo Bills have struggled defensively in recent games, s0 there should be opportunities for Stroud this week. I don’t think he has a great game, but certainly should crack the top 20.

Projection: 15.5 points

19. Michael Penix

Matchup: New Orleans Saints

Michael Penix and the Atlanta Falcons have cooled off quite significantly since their hot start to the season, but they’re getting some of their offensive momentum back and have scored 21+ in each of their last three games. Penix hasn’t put up godly numbers by any means, but New Orleans’ defense has given up some big games this season, so he cracks this list.

Projection: 15.8 points

18. Trevor Lawrence

Matchup: Arizona Cardinals

Trevor Lawrence has not been a consistent fantasy threat this year, but he’s capable of putting up some big numbers. I just don’t really love his matchup this week. The Arizona Cardinals have a sneaky good passing defense and give up the sixth-fewest points to opposing quarterbacks. He shouldn’t be horrible, but there are a lot of QBs I like more this week.

Projection: 15.9 points

17. Jordan Love

Matchup: Minnesota Vikings

Jordan Love got a bit banged up last week, but returned to the game and finished it with no further issues. His availability shouldn’t be in question this week, but this Green Bay offense has been struggling recently, and I don’t trust them to have a great game this week with all of their injuries. I don’t see Love having too big of a fantasy week because of that.

Projection: 16.3 points

16. Brock Purdy

Matchup: Carolina Panthers

Brock Purdy looked great in his first game back, throwing for 200 yards and three touchdowns in San Fran’s NFC West victory over Arizona. I still need to see him do it again before I fully believe in him, because he struggled in his first two games this year, but he should be a decent fantasy option this week.

Projection: 16.4 points

15. Daniel Jones

Matchup: Kansas City Chiefs

Daniel Jones is QB5 on the year and has played very well this season, but his fantasy production has been down the last couple of weeks, and now he faces one of the toughest defenses in football. I do think the Indianapolis Colts have a good enough offense to do some damage, but I don’t love starting anyone against Kansas City. Coming off a bye should help him a bit, though.

Projection: 16.7 points

14. Caleb Williams

Matchup: Pittsburgh Steelers

Caleb Williams put up two great fantasy performances in Weeks 9 and 10 against bad defenses, but this past weekend against the Minnesota Vikings, he was exposed a bit, throwing for X yards and X in the X. Now he has to face a Pittsburgh defense that hasn’t been great, but they’re right around Minnesota’s level. I think Williams will have some success through the air, but I don’t expect him to have a massive game.

Projection: 16.8 points

13. Jacoby Brissett

Matchup: Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacoby Brissett has been great in relief this season, especially in terms of fantasy production. He’s scored 19+ points and thrown for two touchdowns in each of his first four starts this year, and now he plays a Jacksonville defense that gives up the fifth-most points to opposing quarterbacks. I like his matchup, and he has a pretty high floor this week.

Projection: 17.8 points

12. Baker Mayfield

Matchup: Los Angeles Rams

After a couple of down games, Baker Mayfield has returned to form these past couple of weeks. He looked good against New England, he looked good against Buffalo, and now he gets another tough test against one of the best defenses in the league. I believe he’ll play well, but his ceiling is certainly capped because of their opponent.

Projection: 18.0 points

11. Joe Flacco

Matchup: New England Patriots

Joe Flacco has been an incredible replacement for Joe Burrow this season. He’s stepped in and put up 18+ fantasy points in four of his five games, including 24+ in three of those. If Flacco is still the starter next week (which seems very likely, but it could be his last week) against a solid New England Patriots defense, he still has top-10 fantasy QB upside.

And if this does end up being Joe Burrow starting, I’d have him in this same spot. Maybe one or two places higher. But even though Burrow is ahead of schedule, Week 12 doesn’t seem likely.

Projection: 18.5 points

10. Sam Darnold

Matchup: Tennessee Titans

Outside of this week, Sam Darnold has been lights out this season. He’s done everything the Seattle Seahawks have asked of him and more this year, and now he gets a very favorable matchup against the Tennessee Titans. He’s not going to give you 25+ most weeks, but he’s a pretty safe bet for 17-20 points. He may not be built for big moments, but he’s built for games like this where they should win comfortably.

Projection: 18.6 points

9. Josh Allen

Matchup: Houston Texans

Josh Allen is a top-five fantasy quarterback pretty much every single week, but even he has to fall down the rankings when facing the Houston Texans. Houston gives up just 11 points per game to opposing quarterbacks. That’s insane. Allen is good enough to still perform well against this defense, but his ceiling is much lower than most weeks.

Projection: 19.3 points

8. Jared Goff

Jared Goff was a pretty disappointing fantasy quarterback early in the season, but he has turned things around recently, scoring X points in each of his last three games. This week, he faces a New York defense that’s giving up the fourth-most points to opposing quarterbacks this season. I would have him higher, but their run game should do a lot of work. Still, 200+ yards and 2-3 touchdowns shouldn’t be too difficult for Goff this week.

Projection: 19.5 points

7. Jaxson Dart

Matchup: Detroit Lions

Jaxson Dart should be back this week. Key word on should. We just saw C.J. Stroud miss his second straight game with a concussion, so it’s not unprecedented to miss two weeks. Usually, though, it’s a one-week injury, and they’d better hope it is because Dart has been outstanding this year and they’re going to need him if they want any hope of beating the Detroit Lions. Detroit’s defense has been pretty stout, but Dart has scored 19 against the Chargers, 23 and 20 against Philly and 29 against Denver. He’s proven he’s defense-proof.

Projection: 20.0 points

6. Dak Prescott

Matchup: Philadelphia Eagles

Dak Prescott hasn’t been the fantasy beast he was earlier in the season recently, but I believe that’ll change this week. The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles should find themselves in a bit of a shootout, which means Prescott could end up throwing it some 35-40 times. If that’s the case, there’s no reason to believe he can’t finish as a top-five quarterback in fantasy this week.

Projection: 20.6 points

5. Patrick Mahomes

article-image

Imago

Matchup: Indianapolis Colts

Patrick Mahomes is in MVP form right now, and this week’s game against the Colts will be absolutely massive for both sides. Mahomes lives for these kinds of games. The bigger the game, the better he plays, and this should be no different. Indianapolis’ defense hasn’t really been that great this year, so I think Mahomes could finish as a top-five quarterback.

Projection: 20.8 points

4. Matthew Stafford

Matchup: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Matthew Stafford has been on an absolute tear this season. He didn’t have the most efficient game against Seattle, but he threw for 130 yards and two scores and didn’t turn the ball over a single time. I think he’ll have a lot more success this week against a Tampa Bay defense that hasn’t been all that great.

Projection: 21.1 points

3. Drake Maye

Matchup: Cincinnati Bengals

Drake Maye has been great this year, but his fantasy production has fallen off a little bit in recent weeks. He’s averaging 17 points per game over his last three, but considering he’s playing what is arguably the worst defense in the league, I’d say another 20+ point day is incoming. One of the best starts this week, for sure.

Projection: 22.0 points

2. Lamar Jackson

article-image

Imago

Matchup: New York Jets

Lamar Jackson’s rushing upside makes him one of the best quarterback plays every week, but especially this week. The New York Jets give up 18.6 points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season, but Jackson should be able to hit that number and more. I think this game could end up being surprisingly close, so Jackson should be counted on to do a lot with both his arms and legs.

Projection: 23.8 points

1. Jalen Hurts

Matchup: Dallas Cowboys

No matter how much the Eagles’ offense struggles, Jalen Hurts always seems to put up big fantasy numbers, and now he plays a Dallas defense that gives up 24+ points to opposing quarterbacks every week. There is absolutely no reason Hurts shouldn’t score 22 or more points this week, so he’s my No. 1 quarterback.

Projection: 24.8 points
