Imagine an opportunity to earn $1 million in 1 day. Former Patriots quarterback Tim Tebow had this chance but ended up saying no. While his heart wanted to say yes, the influence of Bill Belichick (former New England Patriots general manager) made him take this call. Years after the now-forgotten incident, Tebow finally opened up on a phone call that made him turn the offer down.

Tim Tebow’s recent In-Depth Graham Bensiger appearance unfolded many secrets from his professional career. Soon, the conversation turned towards the $1 million deal that he denied. While the ad commercial opportunity could’ve earned him a fortune, he mentioned how Belichick’s plea to keep him “under the radar” stopped him.
“It was an awesome opportunity from a really good company that stood for amazing things. They really wanted me to be a part of it. But I was asked by him (Belichick) to do my best of going under the radar and not bringing too much attention,” Tebow said.

For Tebow, it wasn’t a conflict with the team. The opportunity was scheduled for an off day. But if it meant going against his coach’s wishes, he wasn’t ready.
“He was just always so honest and really kind in a lot of areas. I called him and said, “Hey, this is the opportunity.” He was very straightforward like he always is, but kind about it. He said, “Timmy, I’d really appreciate it if you turned it down,” he added.

The former Patriots quarterback also later said he has no regrets about turning down a high-paying commercial deal. Looking back ten years later, he believes it was the right choice, even if it only gave him a 1 percent chance to start for the New England Patriots.
Tebow was a star at the University of Florida and entered the NFL with huge expectations after being selected 25th overall by the Denver Broncos. Coach John Gruden once called him the strongest player ever at his position, and he also said Tebow had the potential to revolutionize the game.

However, things didn’t go as planned. Tebow couldn’t meet the expectations set for him and was eventually replaced by Peyton Manning before joining the New York Jets.
Tim Tebow unveils his love for God with a new book
Tim Tebow’s faith in Jesus is unmistakable. He has consistently said that his worth doesn’t come from athletic records or how many fans he has, but rather from being loved by God. The 39-year-old finds comfort in the truth that his identity rests in something permanent and not something that keeps changing (like a game or an audience). In a recent interview with Josh Axe, the former quarterback said:

“I feel like it’s been a journey of highs and lows, of learning, adapting, growing, of God working on my heart and in my mind to constantly grow closer to Him and say yes to the call that He has on my life, and the calling that we all have.”
A few days ago, Tebow expanded on the themes of his new book, Look Again, sharing how it reflects his faith and perspective on life. He described it as more than just a book, as “a wake-up call” to see yourself and others through God’s eyes, confront pain, and discover hope on the other side. Through real stories and testimonies, Tebow emphasized that even in life’s hardest moments, worth, purpose, and love remain constant.
