The New York Giants’ locker room, after consecutive setbacks, has found an off-field reason for celebration. With Thanksgiving bringing in the holiday spirit, the Giants’ veteran wide receiver, Darius Slayton, has opened the page to a new chapter by getting down on one knee despite a hamstring injury.

Slayton and world-champion heptathlete Anna Hall are now engaged, and their story is as athletic as it is heartfelt.

“My whole entire heart. In the exact place we first met, I got to say yes to me & you forever,” Anna Hall posted on her Instagram.

The couple made their relationship public for the first time in November ’24. Hall had shared a carousel of photos with Slayton on her Instagram handle. While neither has revealed exactly how they met, the proposal reportedly took place on the track, the very setting where their paths first crossed.

The couple has always supported each other. Slayton frequently supports Hall during her meets, and the same reflects on their Instagram handle.

Hall made sure to give fans a glimpse of their sweet life together. In the photos posted, the two were embracing each other. One of the pictures revealed that Slayton is a man who knows how to cook a hearty breakfast.

Besides creating moments together, both athletes know how to shine on the field.

At the 2025 World Athletics Championships, Anna scored 6,888 points and won gold. Slayton, meanwhile, remains an active wide receiver for the New York Giants. In March 2025, he signed a three-year, $36 million contract to stay with the Giants.

This season, however, his production has dipped. The 28-year-old has recorded 23 receptions for 343 yards, with no touchdowns yet.

Besides Slayton’s engagement announcement, this season has delivered big off-field moments for other players as well, marking a year of notable personal milestones across the league. Kansas City’s tight end, Travis Kelce, proposed to pop star Taylor Swift in August, sending the world into a frenzy.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” they had captioned the post.

Fast forward to November, and we have Slayton’s big proposal. As the couple announced their engagement, the reactions from his Giants teammates and fellow athletes flooded in, and they spoke volumes.

Cheers from the sidelines and a locker room celebration

Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart playfully dubbed the couple “Mom and Dad,” showing just how much of a family vibe Slayton brings to the locker room. Veteran QB Russell Wilson brought energy, celebrating loudly with a pumped, “Wow, let’s goooo!!!”

Even after a season-ending injury, running back Cameron Skattebo chimed in with warm, heartfelt “Congratulations, baby!!!!!” Wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson added his own “Congrats family” message of support, calling it a family moment, a nod to how Slayton is viewed in their tight-knit roster.

Their comments also underscore how Slayton and Hall feel like part of the extended team. Beyond football, the athletic world rallied, too.

WNBA standout Cameron Brink and Olympic champion Sunisa (Suni) Lee offered warm wishes, highlighting the cross-sport admiration for the couple. Their support elevates the engagement beyond a personal milestone. It became a shared celebration across friendships and locker rooms.

This engagement marks a milestone for a pair whose lives are already intertwined in the fast lanes on the field and on the track.
