“Mason Rudolph Is Better Than [Russell Wilson]”: NFL Analyst Blasts Ex Broncos Star for ‘Living on Past Glories’ Amid Steelers’ Interest

With Russell Wilson becoming a free agent, he is attracting interest from several franchises. The chief amongst them right now seems to be the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, one NFL analyst takes issue with this possible signing. He even went as far as to suggest the second-string QB at the Steelers is superior.
Reports state that Wilson will be joining the roster at a highly discounted price. Despite this, famed NFL analyst and Pittsburgh native, Scott Ferrall, blasts the Steelers for trying to sign the former Denver Broncos’ QB Wilson.

Appearing on his show ‘Ferrall: Coast to Coast’, the 58-year-old analyst had some tough words for the Super Bowl winner Wilson. He compared him to the backup QB behind Kenny Pickett at the Steelers. The 35-year-old Wilson was put on notice for not being able to win trophies in several years.

“Mason Rudolph is better than him (Wilson) now”, said Ferrall in a shocking statement. But Ferrall did not stop there as he continued targeting the 10X Pro Bowler on several other issues.

Wilson last lifted the Super Bowl trophy with the Seattle Seahawks in 2013 at Super Bowl XLVIII. Even though he hasn’t led his team to the ultimate glory since then, Wilson performed extremely well with the Seahawks. And even in his last season with the Broncos, Wilson was on fire!
The 2008 Rookie of the Year scored a TD in every game that he started for the Broncos last season. With 26 TDs in just 15 games to his name last year, Wilson carried an underperforming unit. And with reports suggesting Wilson is looking for the bare minimum on the contract front, his inclusion for the Steelers could be worthwhile!
