Micah Parsons, the former face of the Dallas Cowboys’ defense, popping out of the visitors’ tunnel at AT&T Stadium wearing green and gold, will be the sight to witness. The Cowboys traded him to the Packers around one month ago, in return for two first-round picks and three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark. Parsons is coming back to Dallas on Sunday night, but no longer as a hometown hero, instead as the opposition. For now, the player has already arrived in the city with his new teammates for the matchup, while still showing love to Dallas.

He is grateful to the fans and his former teammates who jump-started his career. Talking to the media prior to Sunday evening’s game, Micah Parsons was looking forward to getting back in the building that had once become home. “I think Dallas loves me. I think they’re gonna give me a good round of applause. There’s no hard feelings there, at least for me. I think it’s gonna be a great atmosphere,” Parsons stated.

He also revealed that he still has his AT&T Stadium suite following the trade. “I still got my suite there, so I was good on tickets.” He said he couldn’t get a refund on the suite after he was traded, so he has it for the full season. He even reached out to Kenny Clark, seeing if he wanted to trade suites. However, when asked if he was in touch with Jerry Jones, the DE declined, stating that they haven’t contacted each other since the trade. That led us to Jerry Jones’ response to Micah’s upcoming visit to Dallas. The Owner/General Manager confirmed that Parsons will not be featured in a tribute video on Sunday night.

He said, “I don’t think that’s appropriate this way. Emmitt [Smith] was a different story. That’s not to diminish Micah. I think Micah has enough welcome out there and we just need to show that we’ve got antidotes for that.” On the other hand, Parsons himself downplayed the reported snub.

“There’s a lot of things I can consider disrespectful throughout this process, but I wouldn’t say the tribute is one of them,” Parsons said. “I just think there’s hard feelings maybe there for them, but, for me, I’m happy where I’m at. And we’ve got a really good football team. So I guess I can [receive] my tribute in a win, I hope.”

However, we can feel the absence of Micah in Dallas. As of three weeks in the 2025 season, Dallas is 1-2 and giving up 6.48 yards per play. Without Parsons’ edge pressure, the Cowboys’ pass rush and run defense have been considerably slower.

Green Bay, by contrast, has prospered with Parsons on board. The Packers are 2-1 and leaders in the NFL in yards per play (3.73). Coming to Green Bay with a problem in his back, Parsons played in the opener and posted his first sack as a Packer on Detroit. He posted three quarterback hits the following week as Green Bay’s defense battered up on Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels in a Thursday night win.

And now he’s all set to visit Dallas, but the Cowboys nation doesn’t feel the same way.

Micah Parsons is getting backlash from the Cowboys nation?

The Cowboys Nation does not appear to be embracing Parsons’ positive sentiments regarding his welcome. X has been buzzing with fans speculating on a chorus of boos on his first trip to the AT&T Stadium field. “They’re gonna boo tf outta you bro” was one such tweet — one that indicates continued bitterness regarding how readily Parsons embraced his new team.

Another wrote, “I’m gonna boo him. He didn’t do enough to receive an applause and asked to leave.” Some fans feel that Parsons forced his way out rather than sticking with Dallas through a rebuilding phase, even though Parsons claimed that he didn’t want to leave on his own.

One more supporter shared a GIF of the “Boo this man” post. “He played 4 season that is nothing and he is quitter,” another supporter wrote. With his time in Dallas, he has recorded 172 solo tackles, 84 assists, 52.5 sacks, and four fumble recoveries. He was selected to four Pro Bowls and was Defensive Rookie of the Year.

But still the Cowboys’ fans are going to be brutal, as hinted by this comment: “Boo this –“ and “We are gonna boo your a– brotha lmao.” Such posts demonstrate the passion that still surrounds Parsons’ unexpected departure, and how others view his quitting as abandoning the team. All these reactions boil down to one prevailing sentiment: Cowboys Nation feels abandoned and betrayed by Parsons. The Cowboys are desperate to win to avoid a 1-3 start, and the Packers want to tighten up their defense with Parsons as the cornerstone. The clash will be interesting on September 28!
