The Baltimore Ravens went into Week 7 without star Lamar Jackson. And it showed. They lost the game 17-3 to the Los Angeles Rams. But the loss wasn’t the only story grabbing headlines. Wide receiver Zay Flowers avoided the media after the game, slipping out of the locker room in frustration. Now, he finally broke his silence.

According to NFL reporter Jeff Zrebiec, Flowers apologized for his actions. He admitted his mistake for rushing out of the locker room without speaking to reporters about his two fumbles against the Rams. As per Zrebiec, Flowers also “Said it wouldn’t happen again.”

Flowers leads the Ravens in receiving yards with 423, making him a key offensive weapon, though he has found the end zone just once on his 34 receptions so far. Both of Flowers’ fumbles came in the third quarter against the Rams and proved costly for the Ravens. The first occurred on a short pass over the middle as he tried to gain extra yards, setting up a Rams touchdown shortly after. The second fumble happened on a mishandled exchange in the backfield, further stalling Baltimore’s offensive momentum.

Interestingly, Flowers also addressed the team’s overall performance, saying that the offense should be doing better, even with Lamar Jackson sidelined. “We’ve still got pieces. We’ve just got to put ’em together.” And he is not wrong.

Right now, that execution is very bad. The Ravens have been one of the league’s worst-performing defenses this season. Since their Week 2 win over the Browns, they haven’t been able to stop anyone. More concerning, in the last two games, they’ve allowed a brutal 61 points.

His chemistry with Jackson once gave Baltimore hope. Now, with their leader sidelined, everything feels off rhythm. And the recent updates deepen that headache.

Lamar Jackson is likely out for Week 8

The Ravens are staring down a tough stretch. At 1-5, they’ve matched the worst start in the franchise’s 30-year history. Fans in Charm City were hoping Lamar Jackson’s return could spark a mid-season turnaround, but that hope is hanging by a thread.

Last week, head coach John Harbaugh sounded optimistic that Jackson could be back soon. Yet when the Ravens hit the field Monday, Jackson was nowhere to be seen. And when asked, Harbaugh didn’t have a clear answer.

“I think all the guys are working really hard to get back, I can tell you that,” he said after Monday’s session. “We’ll see who’s back and who practices on Wednesday. I don’t want to comment on any individual guy.”

When reporters persisted in asking about Jackson’s availability next week, Harbaugh replied, “Same answer.”

Lamar Jackson sustained the injury during the Ravens’ 37-20 loss to the Chiefs on September 28 and has missed the following two games. With the team sitting at 1-5 and coming off a bye, Jackson’s return is pivotal for Baltimore’s playoff hopes. Since 2018, the Ravens have been 74-32 with Jackson under center, including playoff games, compared to just 4-12 when he hasn’t started.

There’s a high chance the Ravens could enter Week 8 without their leader once again. If that happens, all eyes will be on how Baltimore navigates the game without Jackson, and whether the team can find any rhythm in his absence.
