How did Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce meet? They say they met through a mutual friend. But who could it be? A month after Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LVII, Kameron Saunders announced that he’d join Swift as a backup dancer on The Eras Tour. If the Saunders name sounds familiar, that’s because it is. Kameron’s brother is Kelce’s former teammate, Khalen Saunders. Interestingly, Kameron wasn’t her only connection to the NFL world before Kelce. That’s because she and Robert Kraft go way back!

The New England Patriots CEO shared an interesting story about Taylor Swift, and it was all to do with her first stadium concert… and every other sold-out concert that’s followed. “Taylor Swift’s first stadium concert was on my birthday in 2010. June 5th,” Kraft said. “We convinced her and her family that she could sell out a stadium.” She did it for the first time on June 5, 2010, at the Gillette Stadium. And now, she’s on her sold-out world tour of The Eras Tour.

When she came to Foxborough in December for the Patriots versus Chiefs game,  Robert Kraft was waiting for her with a surprise. “I gave her a framed ticket from that concert – June 5th, 2010. Think about it. She was like 18, 19 [at the time]. She’s done pretty well since then,” he hilariously added. However, he pointed out one aspect that should’ve happened differently. At least, as per him.

“Maybe she should’ve been dating Gronk. He’s better looking,” joked Kraft. And hearing that sent the room of fans into a laughing frenzy. Kraft may have given his take on the Kelce-Swift romance, but some people believe Taylor and Travis are a match made in heaven. In fact, the man in question – Rob Gronkowski – thinks so, too!

In an interview with Extra, Gronk gave his two cents on Travis and Taylor’s romance. He said, “Travis is dominating. He’s going to have another thousand yards, most likely this year,” he predicted, mentioning how the relationship is not only good for the Chiefs but for the NFL from the business standpoint as well.

“I think it’s great. I think Travis Kelce is kind of the only guy in the NFL that can handle this type of attention as well.” Considering the global sensation that is Taylor Swift, just being around her comes with a whole lot of attention. And Travis Kelce has taken it all in stride. Unsurprisingly, Rob Gronkowski isn’t the only one in the NFL community who’s pro-Travis & Taylor.

Andy Reid is one of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s biggest supporters

While talking about Kelce and Swift’s relationship, Rob Gronkowski alluded to how the 14-time Grammy winner’s presence at Kelce’s games positively impacted his game. He shared an anecdote and said he was obligated to score a TD or two whenever his wife was in the building. As for Kelce, in the 13 games Swift attended, he totaled 89 catches for 1.039 yards and 5 TDs, per SportingNews.

That made for an average of 6.8 catches and 79.9 yards per game. Apart from that, the Chiefs’ winning percentage increased in her presence as well. “That percentage stood at 75% on the season, compared to 66.7% without her there,” per BetWay. Needless to say, there’s no arguing that Travis Kelce (and the Chiefs) plays better when Taylor Swift is in the house. No wonder HC Andy Reid is a fan of their ever-evolving relationship.

Reid has praised their relationship time and again, even mentioning, “Kelce is getting better with time. Taylor can stay around all she wants.” He noted that Taylor Swift “isn’t a distraction” for Travis and that she “loves the game and obviously loves Kelce.”
