Has Russell Wilson just made an upgrade? The Pittsburgh Steelers QB is gearing up for a potential make-or-break season that may determine his future in the league. After the fallout with the Broncos, not many could have predicted that Wilson would end up with an elite franchise like the Steelers. If some NFL experts are to be believed, he could be in a better position now than at the Broncos.

In the latest episode of ‘The Rich Eisen Show’, Rich Eisen summed up Russell Wilson’s Steelers move perfectly. Unlike the Nathaniel Hackett situation at the Broncos, Russ will work with a well-respected head coach like Mike Tomlin. On top of that, the team has an excellent offensive line with Justin Fields, Kyle Allen, and Wilson himself. According to the veteran NFL analyst, this team even has the potential to go all the way to the Super Bowl!

As per Eisen, Wilson should be the starting QB for the Black and Gold regardless of Justin Fields’ addition. Not only that, the 35-year-old also has a “real shot to go to a Super Bowl and breathe life back into a Hall of Fame trajectory.” Rich Eisen was also quite impressed with the QB’s “blue-collar” mentality as the latter chose to fly commercial to meet the Steelers’ reps instead of taking a private plane.

Though there are positive signs, the 55-year-old also rang some warning bells! Even the most die-hard Wilson fans will admit that their favorite NFL star’s career is winding down. Though his performance was better in the 2023 season, Mr. Unlimited had the worst time of his career in 2022. If the former Seattle Seahawks star repeats his Broncos performance, Eisen thinks it may be a wrap for the future first-ballot Hall of Famer. But, judging by the Ohio native’s preparation, he isn’t going down easy!

Russell Wilson is in impeccable shape ahead of the 2024 season
Russell Wilson is taking excellent care of his body before the crucial 2024 season. In June, the NFL star revisited the boxing ring with the legendary trainer Freddy Roach by his side. On Instagram, the former Super Bowl winner posted a shirtless photo of himself and thanked Roach for the guidance. Though he stopped boxing in 2020 after the pandemic, Wilson stepping back inside the squared circle shows how dedicated he is to fitness!

Even during the Steelers’ OTAs, Russell Wilson seemed extremely tuned in with his workouts. While some QBs skipped the mandatory minicamps to go on overseas vacations, Wilson was grinding it out on the field. Afterward, he even claimed to have found the ‘fountain of youth’. Perhaps Wilson realizes that 84.4 passer rating (in 2022) won’t fly anymore and he is keeping no stone unturned to maintain his fitness.

Overall, Russell Wilson has 43,653 passing yards with 334 touchdowns under his belt. If he can rewind the clock once more and carry the Steelers on his back like he used to do in his Seahawks days, Rich Eisen’s Super Bowl prediction may just come true!
