With the Rams Signing Carson Wentz, Did the Jets Miss Out on a Chance to Replace Struggling Zach Wilson?
Follow Us
The Los Angeles Rams were completely decimated 20-3 by the Green Bay Packers in the last Sunday game. While the Packers’ offense went on to register three TDs, the Rams did not even manage to break the shackles in the whole game. This was the worst performance by the Rams this season. In the absence of Matthew Stafford, who was not playing because of a thumb injury, the Rams’ offense just fell apart.
On the other hand, the Chargers took apart the Jets yesterday 27-6 in the absence of keyman A-Rod. Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles tear in the first match of this season. His replacement, Zach Wilson, has been good in patches and looked as if struggling through the game. The troubles for the Jets don’t look to fade away soon because Rodger can’t join the team until the 28th of next month.

Veteran Carson Wentz looks eager to take charge for the Rams this season going ahead. The Jets did miss out on a golden chance, as Wentz could have managed to string a run here and help get them in playoff contention so that A-Rod could come back. Wilson is far younger than Wentz, as he has played 7 seasons, while the first four were with the Eagles!

Should the Jets have replaced Wilson with Wentz?
There is no denying that Wentz scores high in terms of experience; he also takes the lead in terms of stats. Wilson has recorded 15 TDs for the Jets in the last two seasons, averaging around eight for a season. Wentz has more than 150 passing TDs in his seven years and averages around 22 TDs per season. The sample size is less for Wilson, but the eye test shows it all.
