The Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix last month was a big hit, garnering millions in viewership. But the show’s subject, Brady himself, wasn’t too thrilled. The jokes, especially about his divorce from Gisele Bündchen, hit a little too close to home. He even admitted, “I wouldn’t do that again… because of the way it affected, actually, the people I care about the most in the world.”

This caught the attention of the boss of dark humor — Antonio Brown. On The Pivot Podcast, he took a shot at Brady’s reaction. “It’s a joke,” AB said, “they can say whatever they want.” He criticized Brady for seemingly caring too much about his public image. “Life shouldn’t be that serious,” Brown argued.

Brown believes everyone should be able to handle a good roast. “We all should have a sense of humor and a lightness and of loveness,” he said, adding, “[A]nd not have to apologize for something people actually enjoy.” When the interviewer jokingly suggested “An Antonio Brown Roast presented by The Pivot,” Brown readily agreed. “I can take a joke,” he said confidently, adding, “Get one-off for the pro!”

Despite not being included in the Brady roast, Brown’s comments have captured the spotlight. And with his eagerness for a roast of his own, it seems the war of words between these two former teammates is far from over.

Tom Brown crashes Brady’s roast with a post on X

Antonio Brown and Tom Brady’s time together with the Buccaneers started well in 2021, but it quickly soured. Brown felt sidelined by Brady after their Super Bowl win, leading to public jabs from Brown on X. Now, Gisele Bündchen’s split with Brady provided more ammunition for Brown, who used memes to roast Bündchen’s alleged infidelity.

Thus, fans hoped Brown would be a part of The Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix, maybe even host it. However, his past with Brady led to his exclusion. Brown even jokingly complained on X, posting the roast poster with the caption, “No AB is a crime against humanity.”

Despite his absence, Brown’s name came up. Host Kevin Hart joked Gisele was only attending “as Antonio Brown’s plus one,” aiming to poke fun at Brady. Now, Brown relished the moment, reposting the joke with laughing emojis. His indirect presence added an extra layer of fun to the roast. Now, what could happen when the pro himself is roasted?
