Further highlighting the importance of indulging in charitable activities, the legendary quarterback used his teammate Jerry Rice’s name in a lighthearted way to make the appeal engaging.
“Even the smallest thing that you might not think to give your local food bank — like a extra can or two — could end up making the biggest impact in someone’s life. When measured across the entire network, those few extras can turn into a mountain. 🏔️ And Jerry says we could always use plenty of rice,” he added.
Steve Young and Jerry Rice are known to be one of the best football duos ever.

The agenda behind Steve Young and Jerry Rice’s latest partnership
Young and Rice are teaming up once again with food banks in the Bay Area during the holiday season. The former 49ers are using their names and platforms to ask people to drop off canned goods and staples like rice and beans.
Their message amid the latest reunion was simple: giving even a small item can help when many people give together.
The Bay Area remains a key focus for both legends, as they built their greatest football successes there with the San Francisco 49ers and maintain a deep connection to the region.

The duo is very well aware of the local communities, the struggles families face, and therefore found a consistent way to give back to the place that supported their careers.
Their agenda goes beyond the holidays as they also highlighted the fact that hunger and food insecurity are ongoing problems. Further pointing the interested audience towards local food pantries and programs in the Bay Area, they hope people keep giving and stay aware after the big push.
