Tom Brady has been in the news ever since the news of his retirement came out in February 2023. Interestingly, post his retirement, he has been away from the NFL arena, focusing on other aspects of his life. However, this hasn’t completely cut the former professional out of the NFL radar. In fact, the 44-year-old former QB for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, recently, had some soft words to say for his former coach.

The number 12 QB that was able to win 7 Super Bowls under coach Bill Belichick has had an extremely close relationship with him. The NFL community often talks about how the two shaped each other’s professional careers. For numerous fans, Belichick wouldn’t be the coach he was without Brady, and Brady wouldn’t be a world champion if it weren’t for Belichick. Thus, it is not surprising to witness that the duo shared a bond beyond their professional jurisdiction.

On the latest episode of his podcast, ‘Let’s Go!’, Tom Brady along with his co-hosts talked about several controversies. One among them highlighted the New England Patriots and their recent performances. Since the Patriots were the center of discussion, it was inevitable to avoid mentioning Bill Belichick, the general manager of the team. And hence Brady shed light on how the Patriots have been vying lately.

The “Pats” have been having a terrible season so far and in their last match against the New Orleans Saints, they lost by a staggering score of 34-0. Prior to this, they were handed a big defeat by the Dallas Cowboys who wrapped up the match by 38-3. Ever since then, the fans have been asking Belichick to step down as the GM of the Patriots.

However, Brady did not appear to share the same stance. He came to the defense of his long-time coach by saying, “It takes a great coaching staff to win. It takes great players to win, it’s an organizational sport.” Thus, indicating how instead of being a one-man sport, the NFL promotes the very essence of team spirit.

Additionally, he said that in a faulty game, the coach is not the sole person to blame. Rather, it is the performance of the players combined with the instructions from the coach that require scrutiny. He further confessed about how he still believes that coach Belichick has a chance of making a comeback even after a low season.
