The Chicago Bears have delivered an excellent performance on the field against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7 at Soldier Field on Sunday. Bears starting quarterback Tyson Bagent has just proved himself that he’s truly what his college legacy says about him. Like OJ Simpson said, could the 23-year-old QB rookie secure a permanent spot from where he is now?

Justin Fields, the star QB of the Bears, has been sidelined with a hand injury. The team has no option but to pick the undrafted rookie to replace Fields’ position. Tyson Bagent became the first QB to lead the team to a home win in over a year without Justin Fields. And none other than, OJ Simpson himself even predicted this very thing happening a few weeks back!

OJ Simpson’s “next Brock Purdy” is Tyson Bagent

The former Buffalo Bills running back recently posted on his Twitter a video about how Chicago Bears starting QB Tyson Bagent could be the next Brock Purdy. He said that if “the kid gets a chance, you may be seeing the next Brock Purdy story.

We can be certain that OJ Simpson is vouching for Tyson Bagent, who completed an impressive 21 of 29 passes for 162 yards and one touchdown. The Harlon Hill Trophy winner played for five seasons with the Shepherd Rams and set the NCAAF record for the most passing yards with 17,034. And the last game is a testament to his worth as he defeats the Raiders with 30-12.

OJ Simpson said of Bagent, “He started last week and he won. He’s got a big challenge this week against the LA Chargers. And if he can pull that off, Fields might have a tough time getting that job back. I’m just saying.” He dismissed it with a chuckle. But it could be another prediction that comes true, just like what he said weeks ago.

OJ Simpson predicted that Fields’ days are numbered

In September, OJ Simpson predicted that the starting free-agent quarterback would take Justin Fields’ place as the star QB. Fields have been underperforming this season with 427 yards and two touchdowns. The former 76-year-old NFL running back foresaw that if Fields kept up with the slow pace, Tyson Bagent would replace him.

OJ Simpson stated, “If Fields continues to think and not react, they got a guy named Bagent, their rookie that I predict you will be seeing him before the season’s over. Even though I wish Justin Fields the very best, but this kid Bagent just like Brock Purdy, he’s played a lot of college football at quarterback and he’s ready to be a pro quarterback.”

Not long after this prediction, Fields was sidelined and Tyson Bagent replaced him as the team’s QB on the field. We don’t know what the future holds for both Justin Fields and the undrafted QB rookie. The next game against the Los Angeles Chargers could be a game-changer.
