Another update on the Colorado Buffaloes‘ favorite wide receiver, Travis Hunter, and his injury. Hunter, who suffered a ‘dirty’ hit during his match against the Colorado State Rams, might stay out of the field for some time more. His lacerated liver injury seems to be recovering well, but Coach Deion Sanders has some concerns.

Coach Prime is known to be a good father figure, a great leader, and an innovative coach by many. The amount of care he displays and expresses for his team puts them at ease. Embracing similar sentiments this time as well, Coach Sanders’ concerns about Hunter’s injury are very fatherly. And he could not express himself more clearly about the matter, along with the disclosure of the young WR’s health update.

I love him like he loves the game of football but has to understand this expectation of him.”

Sanders continued, “You can’t get on the field halfway. Like when you play, you got to play. You can’t get out there and go half. And he knows no half speak. But he will play and if he’s not 100%, then it’s not a full Travis. And then the whole country saying he’s not this or that, and I can’t put him in that situation.

However, he cannot do that just yet. So, how long would it take for him to return to the field?

When can Travis Hunter make a comeback?

According to The American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, even the most simple liver laceration injury requires a recovery time period of at least 2 months. Hence, Hunter and his recovery might still take a few more weeks. Not to mention, Coach Prime does not wish to rush the young receiver back onto the field, as his health stands more significantly than the games.

Coach Sanders’ concerns are undoubtedly understandable. Undeniably, he wants the young player to rise once again on the field in a form like no other. However, for that, per Coach Prime, Hunter needs to rejuvenate as much as possible. It is salient to note that Sanders has also declared Travis Hunter’s absence in the upcoming match against the USC Trojans. The WR is doing well but still requires a long recovery period. How soon do you think he will be back?
