The Michigan Wolverines are now officially well-settled into their new Jim Harbaugh era. Previous year’s 18-star players from Michigan have confidently made the stride to the 2024 NFL Combine week in Indianapolis. Whereas, back in Michigan, head coach Sherrone Moore is rustling up the staff positions as he makes seasoned additions like Justin Tress and Wink Martindale to the staff.

While the talks for other vacancies are still brewing behind the scenes, Braiden McGregor, a Michigan defensive edge currently impressing the scouts and head coaches at Michigan, reported the current emotions swirling around head coach Moore, and what went in the locker room before him replacing Jim Harbaugh.

When Jim Harbaugh announced leaving Michigan, the locker room was silent as a night. However, after the after-waves receded, the team sat down together to discuss the next best pick to run the program. The rest is history. “I think that was the No. 1 thing was to make sure we get the right guy. That whole locker room, everybody loves Coach Moore. I think they did a great job in hiring Sherrone Moore,” McGregor said.

Sherrone Moore has been Harbaugh’s right hand, handling Michigan’s offense for the past 6 seasons. Hence, Moore knows the ways of Michigan and the legacy he has to carry. Despite not having any previous experience as a head coach, Moore’s hires speak volumes about his understanding of the league. Tress is someone through with the strength and conditioning department, as he too trained extensively under Ben Herbert. Wink Martindale’s record needs no introduction as he has set the NFL world ablaze with his coaching record all these years. So, per McGregor, “It’s just up from here.”
