Alabama couldn’t have asked for a better coach than Nick Saban. Even though he has put a cessation on his term with the Bama after 17 fruitful seasons, his legacy would be etched in golden letters in the franchise’s history. Even as he parts his way from Alabama on Thursday, there are some unfinished tasks he completed, making sure the standard of adroitness he has set through years of toil does not spiral down after he leaves.
Well, it might not come as an obligation of his duty, but who is to blame? The chemistry that Saban has whetted through the years deserves a final closure. Throughout the years, Nick Saban has preserved one thing finely: something that aided Alabama in maintaining their proud records and several championships: their standards. The video attached with the news shows Saban at the working facility on Thursday morning, getting ready to interview some assistants for taking over. Per The Athletic, Dan Lanning, a graduate under Saban, and a defense coordinator at top-ranked and feared Georgia, would be possibly favored on the candidate list. 2024 National Championship contender Washington’s head coach, Kalen DeBoer, has executed some commendable structuring in his two years. Statistically speaking, DeBoer boasts of a jaw-dropping 104-12 career record. Under him, Huskies went from a 4-8 team to National Title contenders, without losing any games this season.
Along with him, Texas’ Steve Sarkisian is also a heavily favored candidate for the role, having learned from Saban himself. Sarkisian coached the Longhorns to defeat the Bama in Tuscaloosa, went 12-2, and straight into the playoffs.
