NFL games are often a tense affair. Rarely does anyone, associated with a game, ever come out ready for another adventure. Be it the players, the officials, or even the fans, everyone needs to wind down and get their energy back. Get back home, sink into your chair with a cold beverage in hand, and just snooze into the night. And that is exactly what Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller does as well. Although his method of winding down may not be universally recommended, if it works for him, then no problem, right?

Miller joined former Indianapolis Colts Kicker Pat McAfee on his show and talked about his winding down routine. During the show, he talked about how he and teammate Josh Allen “kicked it” after their upset loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He said, “I didn’t have any speeches or anything like that. I just wanted to kick it with my guy, just want to hang with my guy, have a couple of alcoholic drinks…. I love them. And spend time with my guys, that’s all it is”

When McAfee questioned him on his go-to drink, he responded with, “I’m a Tequila guy……well really my drink is Clase Azul Reposado, so of course I drink it. I drink it with lemonade, I drink it on the rocks, I drink it with…orange, I have a couple of beers with that….you know guys drinking wine, I do that. But this is only one day of the week where I drink, and that’s after the game”

Von Miller consoles Josh Allen after mistake-riddled loss to the Vikings

While Von Miller may have been able to sip his drink without much afterthought, Josh Allen might have found it difficult to down any drink at all. His numerous mistakes in the game against the Vikings could have very well been the biggest reason for their loss. This is not to say that Allen is dropping off, or that he is not a good player. Every player makes mistakes in their career and has bad days in a season. But when they happen, the aftermath will not be easy to bear.

The biggest error was probably the fumbled snap, a common phenomenon, one would say. Except, this happened on the Bills‘ one-yard line. Except, this happened when only 41 seconds were left in the last quarter. It should have been an easy play to waste time, and keep possession. But it ended up with the Vikings recovering the ball and scoring a touchdown. That error cost the Bills their lead and could’ve very well cost them the game if not for a late field goal to send the game into overtime.

Overtime was not spared of Allen’s mistakes either. Although it seemed he left the only one here for the last moment of the game. A field goal by the Vikings gave the Bills a chance to win the game. All they have to do is score a touchdown. And they drove the ball down the field very well. Except, once again, Allen’s misfortunes struck again. A pass straight into the hands of Vikings defensive player Patrick Peterson. It secured the Vikings their 7th win in a row.

As the Bills set to face the Cleveland Browns in their next game, will Allen bounce back from his loss, and put up the stellar performance everyone has come to expect of him now? Will he use this opportunity to reaffirm the faith of the Bills Mafia and announce to the world that the Bills are still Super Bowl contenders? We wait and see.
