Tom Brady is a true legend, on or off the game. He has remained a record-setter in the game and in terms of memorabilia collection as well. The NFL GOAT set a record on the sale of his jersey at an auction. But his childhood hero Joe Montana shattered it after the auction of a legendary piece of memorabilia.
The NFL has had legendary moments over the years. But an essential segment of it would be the memorabilia involved with it. Be it the Packers‘ 1921 Franchise Certificate, the Deflategate ball, or O. J. Simpson’s 1968 Heisman Trophy. Brady’s lost Patriots jersey also has a heritage.

Joe Montana is off the game. But 30 years after, the former QB1 is making records. The jersey donned by the San Francisco 49ers legend fetched $1,212,000 on Wednesday. It surpasses the $480,000 record set in the previous year for a Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey. Auctioneer and company founder Ken Goldin said, “It’s only right that the two greatest quarterbacks of all-time are still trading off records, even in retirement.”

Joe Cool’s jersey is not ordinary. He wore the uniform in Super Bowl XIX and XXIII, initially wearing for the 38-16 win over the Dolphins. Four years later, Montana’s wife Jennifer pulled it out from the scrapbook and put it in his bag with a note. It mentioned, “Maybe you want to wear it again.” The former QB made history in 1988 against the Bengals with an 11-play, 92-yard drive with a TD connection with Josh Taylor. The sequence is now famous as ‘The Drive.’
