Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will have all the motivation he needs ahead of the 2022 NFL season, courtesy of his former teammates. The franchise witnessed an exodus of players like Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Davante Adams from their wide receiver room. Since their respective departures to different NFL teams, both wideouts were describing their situations away from the reigning league MVP.

Valdes-Scantling left Wisconsin this offseason to join the Kansas City Chiefs. He will be playing with former Super Bowl champion QB Patrick Mahomes pulling the strings. The former Packers wideout was talking about an impressive no-look pass play from Mahomes during practice and how it reminded him of Rodgers.

The pass was synonymous with Valdes-Scantling, who was naturally prepared by Rodgers to catch those passes.

While discussing the changes with The Athletic’s Nate Taylor from Rodgers to Mahomes, he states, “There’s not much difference. One is just a little bit older. I’m just super excited to have the two best quarterbacks throw me the ball. I guess I’m living right.” Even head coach Andy Reid believes that while there were some similarities. However, he adds that the recruit will need to adjust to get the ball more frequently next season.

Davante Adams believes Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr have a lot of similarities

Apart from Valdes-Scantling, a high-profile departure this offseason from the Packers was All-Pro wideout, Davante Adams. Adams was with the team for 8 NFL campaigns and was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders to play with former Fresno State teammate and QB Derek Carr. Despite leaving Rodgers following his back-to-back MVP seasons, the Raiders WR believes in his new QB’s abilities.

On Thursday, while addressing the media about his new QB, Adams states, “As far as talent and ability, it’s really similar, if I’m keeping it real. They throw the ball a lot differently. Derek’s gonna fire it in there, and you gonna know that thing’s coming quick. Aaron’s got the ability to tighten that core up and flick that ball to you.

While the pair believes they are playing under equally impressive QBs, the Packers fans might disagree. They will be counting on Rodgers to take the field and remove any doubts about their gulf in class. With Rodgers, the Packers will be looking to win it all in the 2022 NFL campaign.
