Gone are those days when Aaron Rodgers used to have beer-chugging competitions with his offensive lineman, David Bakhtiari, in NBA games. Yes, Bakhtiari is a father now and he may have to keep himself available for early morning baby duty. And his quarterback Rodgers is nothing but happy for him. Maybe because A-Rod lost the chugging race miserably.

David Bakhtiari and his wife Frankie welcomed their baby daughter Felix Ann to their lives in the early hours of Wednesday this week. Packers main man Aaron Rodgers is still adhering to his life policy of not picking up any baby that is not his. And so his godfather chances don’t look that good. But A-Rod still has hope, considering how happy Bakhtiari looked at practice.

Rodgers was asked about his lineman becoming a father. “I was walking back to the courts after practice and he’s [Bakhtiari], you know, got a big ass smile on his face. And I wonder what he’s looking at. And he’s looking at a picture of Felix. It’s pretty cool. And I sat down and said, I cannot believe you’re a dad,” the 2010 Super Bowl MVP said in a recent presser.

Aaron Rodgers and David Bakhtiari’s friendship is no secret

Aaron Rodgers’ doubts about being the godfather are a little unfounded considering the closeness he shares with his injured OL. David Bakhtiari gifted his QB a customised Aston Martin Vanquish golf ride with No 12 stitched on the seating cushion after Aaron’s 2020 MVP season. However, with the new baby, A-Rod will have to expect fewer gifts from his pass protector.

Aaron Rodgers mentioned the rough patch of injuries David went through before making his return this season. Bakhtiari left the game in 2020 with an ACL injury and missed the entire 2021 season and the start of the 2022 season. However, the All-Pro tackle made his return and has started nine games for the Green Bay Packers this season before being sidelined again because of an appendectomy surgery.

Head coach Matt LaFleur considered David Bakhtiari a “long shot” for their upcoming game against the reigning Super Bowl champions LA Rams. With four games left for the regular season, Aaron Rodgers has to pull off all the tricks under his sleeve on Monday night to rescue the 5-8 Packers’ season.
