Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are NFL history’s most successful coach-player duo that could ever exist. Bill, with the likes of Brady, won six Super Bowl titles, nine AFC championships and 17 division titles all through the period of those extraordinary 20 years.
Although this Bill Belichick and Tom Brady era is almost impossible to replicate, the question remains, would Bill have achieved the same success if Brady would not be on his side?

Tom Brady was the best QB Bill could ever have
“Of course not,” Belichick said Friday at a press conference. “I think I’ve been on the record dozens of times saying there’s no quarterback I’d rather have than Tom Brady. I still feel that way, I was very lucky to have Tom as the quarterback and to coach him. He was as good (of a quarterback) as any coach could ask for.”
Bill Belichick admits that all that he has achieved is the result of one crazy man, and that is Tom Brady. The years that Brady spent during his time in New England (2000-2019) were the most fruitful years a franchise could ever witness.

Bill Belichick has a great coaching acumen

However, Bill Belichick is also considered the best coach of the NFL, as he was the person who made Brady who he is today. His coaching ability is simply remarkable as he recognizes the right players and turns them into beasts.
Bill’s coaching acumen perfectly compliments Brady’s playmaking ability, and that was the result why they have achieved what they have achieved over that period. Bill signed/drafted/ traded the right players over the years to create a quality team which then Brady led to win Super Bowls over Super Bowls.
So the Bill-Brady debate may continue to go on and to that, there is only one answer; one complements the other, and both are the best in what they do. Because of this, even Brady admitted that “he’s a great coach” and that he was a “great mentor” to him during his time in New England Patriots.
